Karolina Garlicka Acupuncture

I found Karolina when I was in an extremely low place due to trying for two years to fall pregnant and failing. My first session started with Karolina going over my history where she sat and listened, and straight away I felt relaxed and comfortable about my problems. I explained that I already had a beautiful little boy who was born in 2015 which I had naturally after 18months of trying. We decided we wanted more children and as it took some time to fall pregnant the first time we decided to try again after our first child turned one. Sadly, at this time my dad passed away and obviously I was not really in the right place so things weren’t happening. We decided to go down the IVF route and in May 2018 I had a fresh cycle which failed. In July 2018 I had another fresh cycle resulting in a positive pregnancy test but the day after egg transfer, I had an ovarian torsion which resulted in having an emergency operation and sadly I miscarried at around 8 weeks. In January and February 2019, I had two frozen embryo cycle which both failed. Finally, in April 2019 I had another fresh cycle resulting in a positive pregnancy test with twins although sadly, only one survived.I started seeing Karolina after my first failed round of IVF and I was quite keen to get started as I had heard it can take 3 months to start seeing results. I saw Karolina weekly and each week she would tailor my session to suit what I needed. Karolina is an extremely knowledgeable professional and a very good listener. Each week, after giving her the information she needed she would get started with inserting the needles where they needed to go. I was always very keen to know why she placed each needle where she had and Karolina was always able to explain, for example, for nourishing or relaxation. Karolina would make notes of what she did in each session, enabling her to know exactly what I had the week before and also knowing where I was with regard to my cycle and would therefore have an idea of what she thought I would be needing before the next session began. Karolina would always listen, offer advice and she really taught me how to change my way of thinking; to stop being negative but to think positively, she also taught me to visualise what I wanted out of this treatment and to think that my life really wasn’t that bad, yes I had a horrible time with IVF treatment but I had already got a child, a happy home and a loving husband.The facilities Karolina has are calming, welcoming and very comfortable and she always tried to her hardest to fit me in around egg collection and egg transfer day as I ideally I needed to see her at certain times to get the best results, which isn’t always easy to manage as sometimes I didn’t know until the night before as to whether I would be going into hospital or not and obviously I needed to fit around Karolina’s other clients who were also going through the same situation, but she always made it work.After my Ovarian Torsion, Karolina had a discussion with me as to whether my husband had any checks done on himself or whether he would like to have some acupuncture. My husband has a fear of needles but made an appointment with Karolina as we felt anything was worth a go. She listened to what he had to say and picked up on something that she thought didn’t sound right and actually pointed him the direction of a very well-known infertility doctor. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for Karolina’s listening skills, knowledge, acupuncture skills and contacts we would not be pregnant now. My husband went under further checks with the consultant, we both completely changed our diet which again was down to Karolina and I continued to have weekly acupuncture appointments. From the checks my husband had, his sperm made huge improvements and I am certain that from the combination of acupuncture and improved diet this is the reason why I am now pregnant.I highly recommend Karolina as she is kind, caring, very knowledgeable and I cannot thank her enough for what she has done for myself and my family. What I really appreciate about Karolina is that she treats you as a whole person and not just the symptoms that you are experiencing. She is professional yet friendly and made me feel comfortable to tell her my medical and emotional history which I feel really helps to be open and honest. I came to her seeking help from years of severe back and hip problems and anxiety which I thought was purely from the damage done from my 3 pregnancies but it was much more than that really. She is full of knowledge and through listening to her and doing some of my own research on the things we spoke about as well as her fantastic treatments which included electro acupuncture and cupping, I am now pain free! Not only does my back feel stronger (I am full converted now that your body can really heal itself!) and no pain after long days with children and family life, I am considerably calmer and less anxious which has been the best surprise of all. Karolina is caring and kind, she makes you feel very comfortable in treatment and speaks you though every step. She is very intelligent and professional and very good at her job! I sought Karolina out after struggling with multiple health conditions and I started to feel better slowly and surely after the second treatment. I’ve been seeing Karolina for acupuncture for about two months. I am a chronic sufferer of migraine, having four or more episodes weekly when I first consulted Karolina. After a month or so the episodes began to decrease and now I’m averaging around one a week, which to me is an amazing result. It’s wonderful to wake up without a headache, not just occasionally, but regularly. I’m continuing to visit Karolina on a monthly basis to maintain my current state and who knows, maybe have regular weeks without migraine. I had treatments by Karolina whilst undergoing ivf but also in pregnancy and in preparation for birth. Karolina is the most incredible acupuncturist who has changed my life for the better. She takes the time to get to know you and always makes you feel like a valued patient. I had a treatment for plantar fasciitis today with Karolina. A little sceptical that I will get an immediate relief as I have tried every other treatment recommended (apart from steroid injection), I wrestled up the courage (scared of needles) to try this one last resort. Needless to say I survived and I have just come home (4 hours later) and realised I haven’t thought of my annoying and always aching foot at all!! Because there is absolutely no pain whatsoever! I am so excited as the chronic pain was stopping me from walking my dog and enjoying life in general. I am on my feet all day at work and it was becoming difficult to stand. I am hoping that the throbbing at night will also be gone. I can not recommend Karolina enough, this is not the first treatment she has done for me and my family. I had a keyhole knee surgery last October so though I would give acupuncture a go. I should have done it sooner! Totally helped me a lot with my recovering process with only 2 sessions. I will definitely have some more for sure. You can add other treatments at the same time. My shoulders were also really painful because of my work and Karolina advised me to have the Cupping and the final results made me feel very relaxed. I can’t recommend Karolina enough, i have never felt such a effective touch In accupunture, tuina and cupping occasionally. Karolina is a naturally gifted well rounded practioner of chinese medecine and i have consulted with her for many different treatments: cold, stress, physical fatigue/pain, or simple relaxation.I have never experienced this before : it is very rare for me to feel her needle going in (and i am squeamish) but everytime i have feel the release of energy.Karolina is patient, listen carefully to her client and will take time to ensure all the symptoms and the cause of the problems are treated.After every visit i am feeling much more centred and rested. Karolina treated my son for acute torticollis (twisted neck) and hives infection. Before treatment my son head very limited movement and was on regular painkillers. His neck movement improved greatly immediately post treatment and further still 12 hours later. With regards to his hives infection we noticed no improvement whilst on medication for 5 days.
