When my little one first started having maths lessons with Karen, she had no confidence in maths, she would get frustrated at maths homework and become emotional.
I questioned tutoring, I worried I was getting her to do extra lessons on the subject she hates was the best thing, would if add more pressure, would she feel overwhelmed.
She now gets it! The extra one to one has reduced her anxiety around maths and she actually says she enjoys maths now, which is amazing as she only ever said she hated maths before. Contacting Karen was the best thing I did, I would recommend her to anyone. She has a great way of breaking down information and teaching her in a way she understands, with a lot of positive praise. My little said she a nice voice too which is what children need.

Will has loved working with Karen and his confidence has grown enormously. Karen helped Will with year 2 reading and comprehension…. the work was pitched at exactly the right level for him and Karen chose books based on things Will said he enjoyed so that the learning was more enjoyable. It was lovely to watch Will read the books with Karen and feel able to answer the comprehension questions…he really has come on leaps and bounds. I haven't had a tutor for my children before and Karen went through everything with me clearly.
She is very patient and understands which areas more help is required.
Unfortunately, my son who is 6 has really struggled adjusting to school life. Plus with school closures he had lost all his confidence regards to reading and phonics. Karen has been building his confidence and I can see that his confidence is coming back. He looks forward to his lessons each week. The lessons are always organised and fun.
