Tutoring
Karen was just the tutor we were looking for.
My 9 year old had quite a few weeks of tutoring as we were waiting on a school placement.
Karen taught Maths, English and also some History and science. My daughter really enjoyed her lessons and Karen was able to keep her focused throughout.

Mathematics at primary level
Expert in the Singapore method of teaching and learning maths. Collaborative, problem-solving. utilising methods discussed and formulating strategies that the pupil will then record for future use. Incorporating manipulatives for practical use at initial stages of learning a new mathematical concept. Scaffolding and supporting where needed and encouraging trying out various strategies. Your child will become a great problem-solver and will love maths if they don't already. I really enjoy teaching this style of learning maths.
Reading
I have 21 years' experience and professional development in teaching phonics and reading to pupils of all primary ages and abilities. I love books and motivate my pupils to become avid readers too. I have taught many children with Autism, with English as a second (or 3rd/4th etc) language, with sight difficulties and hearing disabilities, with Dyslexia and with many other obstacles to them reading well. I am professionally trained in Read, Write Inc, Phonics, Guided Reads and many other professional development courses throughout my career.
English writing (Primary level and adults)
I am fully trained in many approaches to teaching and learning English.
I have expertise in producing prolific and skilled writers at any primary school age. I have great successes in SATs pass rates even for the least enthusiastic of writers.
I have trained in Read, Write Inc, Big Writes, Writing Is Fun and many more professional courses over my career.
I can also teach adults various English writing skills.
Tennis coaching
I love teaching and playing tennis and can offer coaching to your children.
Dance classes
I am trained and skilled in dance with over 50 years' experience. I can offer classes in tap, ballet, street dance and modern contemporary.
