I have been having lessons with Kat since I was eight years old. In 5 years, we have spent a lot of time together and I have learnt what a caring, kind, and amazing teacher she is. I really see my improvements especially in technique and I feel like I know my genre and which songs suit my voice. I have taken away a lot from my lessons with Kat but one of the things is confidence. When I started lessons, I had no confidence and was shy and too embarrassed to sing in public and now I have done several auditions including the voice kids and taken part in several talent shows, and I would not have been able to do it without Kat's support. I trained with Kat for 5 years at Elite Dance Academy in ensemble and private lessons. These lessons really helped me get out of my comfort zone and were always full of new exercises to benefit my singing voice whilst learning the correct technique. Kat was able to pinpoint my weaknesses and work on them to bring them up to the same standards as my strengths. Not only was she able to help me improve in an area I have always lacked confidence in, but she always delivered the lessons in a fun and engaging way. Kat still helps me now as I am studying at university in Performing Arts with what songs I should choose to best suit my singing voice as well as helping me prep for working in the industry. I have been singing with Kathryn for the last five years and can honestly say that I dread the day when I have to go to university and can no longer spend Tuesday nights at Kat’s learning to sing. Not only have I learnt what seems like hundreds of beautiful songs, I believe that my singing technique and musical understanding has improved massively. As you will see from the other reviews on this page Kathryn is a professional and successful teacher, but she is also a wonderfully kind person. Kathryn gets to know her students and their voices and has the incredible ability to suggest songs that were seemingly made for us to sing. As a student in my GCSE year, I am like many others feeling the pressure, but my fought nightly singing lessons provide an escape from exam stress and I enjoy them thoroughly. If you / your child are looking for a teacher who is encouraging, successful and has the ability to make you the best vocalist you can be, then you don’t need to look any further!
