Dog Training - K9-Kapers offer one-to-one training sessions and classes using force free methods with the emphasis on positive reinforcement. We love working with puppies but have a real soft spot for working with rescues and adult dogs who perhaps missed puppy classes or need to brush up on the basics.

Murphy hates the vet, think it started when he had a really sore paw and she tried to examine it, since then cant even get him his booster. Vet said needs muzzle training. Aileen was brilliant. One session with her set us on the right track. Taken weeks but he can now wear his muzzle without using treats. Hopefully going to the vet this week. Just completed a 7 week training course run by Aileen. Absolutely loved it! Aileen and her helpers were fantastic (husband Michael and trainer James). Learned so much and got lots of extra one-to-one support at each session. My wee Yorkie was very nervous but even she really enjoyed the sessions and progressed with each one. Booked a one to one session with Aileen and to be honest was not sure what to expect! Wow the information we received was great. So lovely to hear views on what you are doing right or alternatives to help us. Also with Aileen coming to the house we could show her around and ask for advice. Great value for money too. The report you receive after the session is great too, with loads of interesting links to things that you had discussed. I would recommend Aileen to anyone with a puppy or dog! Loved attending the Groundwork for Grownups course with my Lhasa Apso Oscar. Highly recommend K9-Kapers courses. Aileen works with simple but effective training methods based on positive reinforcement. Everything was really well explained, and Aileen was so encouraging and enthusiastic. Cleo completed Alieens dog training for adult dogs when we took Cleo in from sspca. It was a fantastic class and a brilliant way to bond with our girl in the early stage and learn new techniques (and fun tricks) to instil good behaviour in Cleo (and us) at that very important first few weeks of taking on a rescue dog - would recommend to anyone - the extra advise and support provided by Alieen who is very knowledge, helpful and caring, made all the difference to our bonding with Cleo. 5 star training.

Can't rate Aileen's puppy training classes highly enough. Our two cavapoos have benefited so much from all the techniques we've learned, the information and even the socialising with other dogs has been fantastic. What I love is the whole approach is calm and force-free. You learn that force would never be needed and learn a lot about bonding with your dog and understanding each other. The dogs were never for a moment stressed or unhappy. Aileen is an absolute wealth of information, from food, to toys, leads, breeds and of course training techniques. She has a perfect balance of discipline and affection for the pups and it's just what we were hoping for from a trainer. Kids were made very welcome when they attended the classes with us also. What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the delight on a dog owners face when they see how well their dog responds to training.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I spent 40% of my waking hours working it just made sense to do something that I love and am passionate about.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a force free trainer and proud member of the Pets Professional Guild British Isles, whose main ethos is; no pain, no force, no fear. The training methods I use are up-to-date and are scientifically proven to be more effective than "traditional" methods. My aim is to make training enjoyable for both owner and dog whilst helping build a better bond between the two.
