The company had no supervisor but the company's owner's friend who was just bringing material to the tradesman. the loft was built with inexperienced trade companies who were not following the architect's plans step by step. I mentioned that a few times during the construction and I was showed a hand drawing for the erection of the dormer, not a plan. The box room was almost halved ( I was supposed to lose just a few inches) and almost all the woodwork was done by a young Albanian boy who barely understood English. I pointed out to his supervisor so many mistakes that I could write a rapport about it. At one point I got so angry for all the mistakes that I just stopped the work being carried out. The carpenter's supervisor tried to blame me as I am out of my mind. In the end, they found out that they used the first plans for the loft which was completely wrong. They tried to correct as much as was possible, but all the pipes and electric works were installed and not much could have been changed. After one year, I realize that the insulation is out of the "roof" as in winter is freezing and in summer is a sauna in my loft. The window is skewed and air, cold, and draft is free to circulate. I have 10 years warranty for the loft which I can flush it down the toilet as the company is now permanently closed. They don't reply to any of my emails even b4 the closing down. Our loft conversion was completed during April until August 2019, and we are very pleased with the finished work. I would definitely recommend Jones Brothers to anyone thinking about getting a Loft extension. The on-site staff were always very polite & hardworking and when we had to contact the office found the staff here to be polite, light-hearted (in a good manner) and always ready to listen to our questions / concerns. A few tips re: Jones and the general build (there are many, I could write a book about the process) but I hope these help:a) Know what you want and explain it to the team/draftsman as well as you can, with drawings, notes, etc. Do your research by any means, google images, other customers loft spaces, company references. Lock it all in at quote time. Changes do happen and they will be a cost. Don’t be afraid to talk to Jones Brothers, if you see something that might need a change. It’s your space!b) Ensure they use a chute for taking rubble / dirt off the roof (or all walked down the ladder), we have few instances that stuff was thrown off, and with the possibility of kids/people walking around, not good (could have just been the first team we had!)c) Maybe late spring / summer might sound the best for building, but we had weeks when the build was void of staff/builders, told it was due to the summer holidays and number of jobs they had on was to blame!!. Took longer than quoted by 1 month, but due to staff not on site all the time (a full week at one stage), it seemed much longer. d) Be a busy body, go up every day to check things out – Its very, very important you pay attention to every detail of the build. Ask questions, you are the customer, do not be afraid to ask anything. Had a massive supporting joist in the middle where my large picture window was. Luckily, I caught it before build was too far along.e) Issues / concerns do arise, found best to email and then follow up with call (unless its urgent, then ring) – Again I always found the office staff very helpful and polite, and also the main foreman of the firm. f) Loft space internal height – Jones Brothers helped out here, speak to them, get them to calculate. I am 6ft 5inchs. No Rave dancing up there, but happy with our celling height. Many architects/builders stated couldn’t be done, Jones Brothers did.Again I would definitely use Jones Brothers, though one final piece of advice – if budget allows get a painter in after build, I am still doing mine..!!!!! We hired Jones Brothers to extend our one-bedroom loft to create another room and a shower room, and are delighted with the result. The company advised us on layouts to ensure we maximised the space available and then completed the project in about 12 weeks. All of the team on site were friendly, hardworking and very good at their crafts, and always tidied up after themselves. The office were also very efficient and generally responded to our queries promptly. And while there was the odd hiccup along the way, problems were dealt with swiftly and effectively. We are very happy with our loft conversion was, which was carried out by Jones Brothers this summer (2019). This has made an enormous difference to our house and turned out better than anticipated. The whole build happens in phases, first fitters who were amazing and very fast followed by second fitters, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, roofers and carpenters each had their own specialism. Everyone worked well and were very polite, tidy, professional and hardworking. We were worried about the mess but everyone cleaned up after themselves and to be honest there was not as much mess as we thought there would be. There were a few issues, only a few, but emailing the office or texting their project manager, and these were quickly dealt with. If we could give any advice, it would be to be available as much as possible. There were small decisions and good ideas given by everyone along the way. If we had not been available to ask, they would have had to make their best estimate of what we may have wanted. We are happy to recommend Jones Brothers, they are a good company. More...

We have only good things to say about our loft conversion by Jones Bros. From the outset it was clear that we had made the right decision in choosing them. Any issues, although there were only a few, were quickly dealt with in an efficient manner. All the workmen were friendly, helpful and professional and any additional requests we asked for were handled with understanding. One of the reasons we chose Jones Bros was the fact that we would only lose a few inches of our 3rd bedroom, where we were told by other companies that we would lose at least half of the room. I employed the services of Jones Brothers to carry out my loft conversion. This was completed about a month ago and I am over the moon with the extra space that has been created. My contract remained with them at all times and I had the same point of contact throughout. There were a couple of small issues during the project but these were promptly dealt with. We selected Jones Bros due to the evident expertise from the outset. During the initial discussions there experience and professionalism was clearly evident, they are specialists in the conversion business. This continued throughout the construction process, all operatives that worked on the project were firstly polite and courteous however it was clear that the work was undertaken to an excellent standard by genuine trades people. The extension has real feeling of robustness, it is well constructed. We are most pleased with the finished outcome, particularly in the final quality of the finish. One of the stand out parts is the advice provided so that the new staircase and landing appears as part of the existing property, from an internal perspective you would not know it is an extension. The wife and I used Jones Brothers Loft Conversions when we needed a loft conversion adding to our Bungalow. Mr Jones has created a very unique looking, cedar clad dormer which we are over the moon with. The dormer has created 2 double bedrooms measuring 4m x 4.5m which we will use as rental rooms for students.The work was carried out as agreed and his workmen are friendly and polite- also very clean!During the build some damage was done to the ceiling of our downstairs bedroom. I assume somebody dropped a power tool. This was shown to the manager on one of his site visits and they were happy to re-plaster and paint the bedroom ceiling.We will definitely be getting the company back in the very near future to add an upstairs shower room and another bedroom at the front of the property. We are so pleased with our loft extension. We now have two extra rooms and a bathroom. The workmanship is excellent, the staircase in particular. It is spectacular and you would not know that the loft has just been added to the house. All the workman were excellent, punctual and leaving the site clean and tidy. If we had any questions, they were promptly answered and procedures were explained well throughout. We really thought they went out of their way to leave us very happy and content with our loft.
