Q&As

What I love most about my job is having the flexibility to think outside the box to help my clients find solutions that truly meet their needs. The satisfaction I get from seeing the faces of happy clients I've helped, is extremely rewarding.

My inspiration to start my own business came from the frustration of working in places where I could see a solution that would address a clients need, but was restricted by my job description from being able to offer that option. Starting my own business enabled me to apply all the knowledge and experience I'd gained, without limitations, to help clients achieve the outcome they need to resolve their matter.

The service I provide is tailored to meet the needs of each person who comes for assistance. Everyone is treated with equal care and respect, without bias or judgement. If I am not able to assist you, I will signpost you to a service that can.

Mediation meetings are primarily provided online via zoom, which means that they are accessible using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer.

Due to Covid-19 I have made mediation available on line via zoom that allows everyone to meet remotely whilst maintaining a safe environment.

Services

As a family mediator, Joanne makes the not so easy parts of divorce much more manageable. It can be difficult to try to piece together, or imagine, a life beyond separation, but Joanne can help you through that process. Mediation is conducted online via zoom, so there is no need to leave home.

Joanne is particularly experienced in helping couples find solutions where there has been domestic violence, or where there are more complex needs that require the inclusion of other professionals in the mediation process such as a mental health keyworker or a children's social worker.

Joanne explains that when deciding “who gets what”, or making effective co-parenting arrangements, the process of separating or divorcing does not have to be a messy or daunting experience. She helps her clients to understand that mediation provides an avenue to explore alternative options that can address underlying concerns whilst showing the mutual respect that enables a healthy working relationship to resume.

If you are a landlord facing the prospect of commencing legal proceedings to evict a tenant due to rent arrears, or a tenant at risk of being made homeless, Joanne can help you retrieve that rental income and avoid the stress and expense of seeking a remedy through the courts. This can involve opening channels of communication with the DWP to reconsider their decisions to cease payment of a welfare benefit, or, with local authority housing benefit and council tax departments. It may be a matter of helping a tenant find new ways of managing their budget. Joanne is highly skilled at turning situations like this around by addressing the root cause of the matter and eliminating the need to consider eviction.

Do you have a council tax demand for the payment of arrears, or have you been told you’re no longer entitled to receive a welfare benefit? Joanne can challenge a council tax decision or prepare your paperwork to appeal a DWP decision to stop paying your benefit. Joanne also provides some advocacy support and assistance at court and at tribunal appeal hearings to help you get your life back on track.
