Further to the review I posted on stone and deck, which is the same business as JKB (copy of review below) regarding the laying of the artificial grass.
We did NOT tamper with the grass after they had left. The two strips should have been laid in the same direction, but one is 90 degrees out from the other causing it to look a different shade. We mentioned this at the time and were assured that after a week or so, once the pile lifted up it would all look the same shade. They said that the join had been sewn together, IT HASN'T, and no we didn't undo it. The edges and seem have been secured with 10mm staples which are inadequate as they just lift up. The fact that he has no intention of correcting the errors is unacceptable. If he had been willing to rectify the problems it would have been a 5*

We employed James to lay paving slabs and artificial grass to our front garden. We are more than happy with the slabs but unfortunately not so with the grass as it has been laid incorrectly, which we noticed once the team left and had be paid. He initially promised to return and look at the problem but to date he has failed to return. Despite numerous phone calls and messages there has been no response.

OMG! Chapter 2
Just had a professional fencer round to look at James’s dreadful work. He said, and I quote, “In the course of many years in farming, I have never seen such an appalling attempt to erect a section of panel and stock fencing. I hope you haven’t paid the guy”. Sadly, and stupidly, I have. The panels are 90 degrees the wrong way in for starters, but also the concrete posts in which they are meant to slot are not even straight, resulting in a number of panels at risk of falling out. God only knows how James has got a ‘Certificate of Excellence, 2020. Clearly not his fencing ability, nor his integrity, that’s for sure. I wonder what else I will discover when the fencing is completely re-done…………. More...

OMG! Where do I start?
Let me begin with a positive – James seemed a nice enough fellow when I met him and he appeared to be competent for the task in hand. That’s as far as it goes I’m afraid and how stupid I was to engage him. The fencing he has erected is, essentially, nothing short of a disaster and I am now having to employ a professional to rectify and re-do much of his work. James did accept that there were failings in a number of areas but assured me on a number of occasions that he would return to fix them. I trusted him to do this but, needless to say, he has not had the decency to do so even though I had, again very stupidly, paid him in full. This what comes from having given someone the benefit of the doubt and trusting their word. I should have known better. Bottom line, if you want a professional job done taken through to completion, my advice is to avoid using James’s outfit. I honestly do not know how he can sleep at night if he treats clients as badly and unfairly as he has treated us. I wish you luck, James – what goes round, comes round. More...
