Q&As

I started my counselling training in 2013 and have been actively working as a counsellor since 2015 after doing some basic training and falling in love with it.
The thing I love about my job is being able to help people. I fully believe that the key to therapy is the client/ counsellor relationship and once trust is built people can start to explore themselves in the knowledge that there is no judgement and they can be who they truly are in that moment. I myself have had counselling in the past so have been the client and can empathise with how hard it can be to talk without fear of judgement.

By working for myself I can be more flexible to my clients needs. Life is busy and people work and have families or other commitments and finding the time for counselling can be difficult. I am able to offer counselling in my home and am available for home visits

I am an empathetic, non-judgemental counsellor and I have worked with a diverse range of people. This gives me the experience needed to work with a wide range of issues that people may face. I am as flexible as I can be and will try my best to accommodate my client so they feel happy and safe. I have worked in mental health for 15 years and with trauma clients for 5 years and currently work for a bereavement charity. I am an accredited member of The Foundation for Infant Loss.
I have also worked for the NHS, Rethink, Milestones Trust, The Victim Support service, Unseen and in a secondary school.
As well as working for myself I also work for children's services. This job requires me to work with families struggling with lots of different issues.
