I am living in Canada and was trying to transfer stocks from my late husband's estate into my name. Computershare required a Medallion Signature Guarantee, which was not available here in Halifax. IWC to the rescue! They were very responsive and extremely helpful in getting this transfer made. I chose the Premium Service just to make it easier and quicker, and I think that was a wise decision. I have had a very traumatic few years, losing 2 brothers and a sister in law and having to deal with their estates and complex legal issues. I used Dawn Williams of IWC for the probate and also their connections for selling the properties. I honestly can’t praise her enough. Not only was she outstandingly professionally, explaining all the procedures along the way, but she was very compassionate and understood the trauma I was going through. She communicated with me all the way and was always at the end of the phone, even during the pandemic. The probate and cases were very complex, with the Wills having mistakes in them and having to get affidavits etc and I couldn’t have done this without them. IWC had originally helped my late mother with her Will and when she sadly passed away, as executor, the burden seemed rather large at a difficult time and IWC took all of this away from me as an additional service. Lucy Pellatt took all of this on and also dealt with a difficult family issue around the Will with such efficiency and skill; I could not have done it all without her! I cannot rate IWC highly enough and in particular Loren Jarvis who has helped me on two separate occasions. In my opinion 5 stars are not enough praise for the service I have received. I used their services in relation to shares held in my late mother’s name and the sale of those shares and the claiming of back dividends and all the red tape that went alongside it all. It involved dealing with Computershare in the USA on one instance and Computershare in Jersey on the other. I was filled with horror on both occasions at what I was confronted with. Loren was a calming influence, she took all my worries away, she was professional efficient, kind and understanding, nothing was ever too much trouble. It was COVID19 time and I had to execute a transfer of my securities from Computershare to a transfer agent in Israel. The reason I needed this was because I couldn't trade any of my shares, since my securities were being held by a North American agent and I am an Israeli citizen, and tax laws apply to me relevant to Israel. So after consulting many of people it all seemed mission impossible. Eventually, I with the help of our CFO found out that I'll need a medallion stamp on my transfer request in order to verify my identity. In regular times, it would be a matter of a flight to Canada, visiting a bank and getting the medallion guarantee. But in Covid19 times, when all is closed, almost no flights it was more challenging. IWC is the official party recommended by Computershare for overseas citizens, requesting security transfers. We made contact with IWC and after several emails and a couple of calls, I started the process. I have to say I did it mostly alone, with some help and consulting our CFO, but mostly consulting IWC by email many times, at all of which they always replied kindly and fastI had no experience in securities whatsoever, IWC's guidance, both written, examples, emails was excellent and fast. It took me a couple of weeks (having in mind the local covid19 lock-down). Once mailed by DHL and received by IWC, it was fast. They did the verifying and issuing and sending the documents to Canada in about a week. Having inherited some international shares from my sisters estate and trying to sort out things in England and the USA to get shares transferred into my name, I virtually hit a brick wall.
