Our 12 month Chocolate Lab has a habit of escaping when the door is opened! She also pulled on her lead when walking and being so strong it meant that only my husband and son could walk her! After Bren worked with us we now have a great base to continue on with her training. She will still occasionally escape but her recall is improving and she is as good as gold on a walk! More...

So glad we contacted Inverclyde puppy training for our boy, although we had no issues he is a big breed and we wanted to do best by him. What inspired you to start your own business?
We Started Inverclyde Puppy Training because we have an absolute passion for training dogs. The west of Scotland is full of dogs crying out for proper guidance from their humans, we can give this.

We have hundreds of happy clients, most of who have tried different training methodologies. Our balanced approach to dog training makes it clear for you and your dog, what is expected.
The 8 Week Puppy Course
‘The IPT Puppy Course’ is an 8 week course which combines an easy to understand theory folder with 1-2-1 training in your home from one of our expert trainers.
The course folder includes a week by week program guiding owners through what to teach their puppy and when to teach it.
Throughout this course we’ll breakdown everything you need to know to have the perfect canine companion for you into easy to understand sections. IPT’s role in this process is to:
- Equip you with everything you need to become a high-level dog owner and leader.
- Allow you to be able to adapt to any circumstance you find yourself in with your puppy.
- Result in you not needing to have a dog trainer with you all the time because understanding the theory of WHY we train puppies the way we do and not just the how we train them means you can deal with anything your puppy sends your way.
The step by step, week by week layout of the course is designed to help you understand what you should be expecting of your puppy at each stage of its early development so that you can:
- Set your puppy up for success.
- Introduce the correct thing at the correct age.
- Spot when things are going wrong.
- Understand why they might be going wrong.
- Know how to fix them swiftly before they develop in problem behaviours.
1-2-1 Behaviour Modification/Obedience Training
1-2-1 consultations are available for any training requirement from teaching basic obedience to modifying problem behaviours. The duration of the consultation depends on a wide verity of variables including age and type of training.
E-Collar Training
We use a 4 step program to teach 100% reliable off lead obedience, even under high distraction. Utilising the e-collar in this way is not only fair for your dog but also fun for you and him/her.

We offer a free half hour phone consultation where you can chat to out head trainer about the issues you're having, or training you're looking for. Brendan will advise on the best course of action and guide you through the booking procedure should you choose Inverclyde Puppy Training.
