What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
To me the secret to taking a good Photograph is taking time to know what you are shooting.
Landscapes to wildlife to people and so on knowing what your shooting helps to achieve your images.
If shooting landscapes know your environment ie if near a river or open water know when the tides are in and out ,know when the sun is going to be at a certain time during the day,know local weather patterns . These little thing all help to get great Landscape images.
If shooting People first thing get to know them , what do they like to do in there spare time ?,what movies do they like ? , What style of clothes do there enjoy wearing ?. Build a picture of what type of person there are and will get to see there natural self come through on the images. Engage,Relax and shoot.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
As daft as it seems the First Question would be "do you know what you are wanting?". Have there sat and had a little think about what type and style of photography do they want. Is it Casual, Formal , Candid, Black and White,Colour, Studio, Outdoor and so on . Knowing this gives me more scope to help get the desired images.
Second question would be " What is your Budget?". know what budget the client has helps me give a more accurate quote for my service plus if the budget is off my quotation then i can ask myself "is there anything i can do to help the client get what they are after at a cost that is both beneficial to both parties".
What do you love most about your job?
I love to Create. The Opportunity to create stunning images is what drives me forward. The Ability to produce high end Images that people look at and say "yeah that,s good" but walk away and later on remember that image is the ultimate for any creative individual. Working with equally creative people to achieve the same goals and meet people from all walks of life who you may never had meet and again "create "long lasting friendships.
