Ibis Club

I have been to Ibis several times indeed I had my Dads Wake here. However on Saturday 31st August I was really disappointed. When I got there I found no one had checked the function room. The window sill and other surfaces was covered in dirt and several dead flies and other insects the function room was absolutley filthy. The table I needed to display food was not put out for me to use. I found this in the other room with leftover food on it from the cricket players who had been playing during the day. Again I had to clean and move these tables myself to the function. I was then told I was not allowed to use the small buffet room where they normally let guests get their food from, leaving the function room free for guests to dance. I was told if I wanted to use this small room it would be another £50 on top of the £350 I had already paid. I wish they had told me this at the time of booking I would have gone else where. I acutally had to ask a member of staff to Hoover the floor as is was Covered with clumps of grass and mud otherwise they would have left it dirty. My Caterer left a message with the bar staff to let me know that the clotted cream was in the fridge. Ibis staff did not let me know this. I can understand why other friends and aquaintences are going to the Jazz Club their prices are similiar the venue is much nicer and cleaner also I find the members of staff are more flexible and they haven't got a Jobsworth attitude. I definatley will not be recommending anyone to go to the Ibis if they are thinking of having a function. A member of staff did give me a birthday drink but I think this was a bit too late as I had to do the cleaning myself or supervising them to clean the floor this are BASIC things that needed doing. I had my father's wake here. The staff from the manager to the bar were supportive, professional and efficient.The venue was clean and there was clear communication at all times so the reception went smoothly in the day and the family were able to leave the staff to get on with things. They even provided extra over flow parking.We had the in house catering from Dolphin's Caribbean, which i had reservations about because of recent bad press but honestly, the food was delicious. There was plenty of it and there was no evidence of cross contamination of the vegan and non vegan foods. Dolphin was professional and went above and beyond to ensure that all of our guests received the same high quality dinibg experience. The servers were fast but efficient and everyone was back at their tables while the food was still piping hot.I would definately use this venue again for any future functions that i have. More...

Excellent gym, it has all the equipment you need and isn't over crowded. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help you. It has plenty of classes that are included in the gym membership. Playing fields outside and a play park for kids. Couldn't recommend this place enough. There's also a bar upstairs! More...
