What do you love most about your job?
I love watching children succeed. It is a real privilege to watch a non reader start to read fluently and with good understanding. Reading is the foundation of learning and I love being part of each child’s journey.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I left teaching recently to concentrate more on giving each individual child exactly what they need. I was ‘outstanding ‘ in the classroom, but the education system no longer allows enough individual time for each child.

Phonics/Reading Tuition
I teach Phonics as the basis for reading and spelling. My teaching is based on the Letters and Sounds document that forms the basis for all
Phonics taught in schools. I teach recognition of individual letter sounds (phonemes) and the blending and segmenting of sounds for reading and writing. Reading and spelling of common exception words are also taught. Reading comprehension is incorporated into the lessons. Most lessons last for 1 hour. I offer 30 minute lessons for young children or those with SEND, if required. Lessons include fun activities. Homework is set as appropriate.
