Another fantastic training session with Matt (Houndmasters). Training is so much fun that Monty forgets he is learning. Videos back up everything that we have learned and are ours to keep for reference. My relationship with Monty has changed for the better - not that there was anything wrong with it to start with - but having learned more about the psycholigy of dogs and their interaction with hunans, our relationship has gone from strength to strength and we both understand each other and are the best friends we could ever be. We bought a package of lessons from Matt to help us with our lurcher puppy (saluki x grey) as we've not owned a sighthound before.

Matt has been fantastic for our dog, giving clear advice, feedback and provides video recordings with commentary of the important things we, as owners need to grasp.

However, no trainer is a miracle worker and you will need to go away after lessons to practice what's being taught if you want to see improvements.

Matt is a good communicator, very clear and will not leave you hanging. We will be booking some top up sessions with him as we are sure his influence has been nothing but positive for our dog and its behaviour is all the better for it. More...

Matt has been amazing and really helped us with training our new Puppy! His attention to detail and understanding of what we needed has been spot on every step of the way! Our Puppy is now a very content and well behaved pooch and we would never have got here, this quickly without Matt. Matt is a brilliant trainer he truly cares not only for the dogs he trains but in general, he has changed my world with my dog Pluto who was very reactive around other dogs, which Made going out on walks very challenging,
Matt actually trains you to train your dog which is a great technique would have never thought of it like that before, and he viedos your sessions and sends them to you so you can look back on them to carry the training on in between sessions, I just completed my last training session today and it was the first time I let Pluto of the lead in a field with other dogs around him he was absolutely amazing he had so much fun and so did I , I couldn’t believe it was the same dog from when I called Matt into help, I strongly recommend to anyone who needs a dog trainer Matt is the trainer to call , what he does is second to none. I was looking for a trainer to help me with my reactive dog Pluto, who was very anxious and reactive when out on a walk, even if the dogs were on the other side of the road, so I went on line not knowing what I was really looking for, and I came across hound harmony so I read the reviews and was impressed and thought this is what I am looking for, so I sent a message and within less than 30 Minutes I had a call from Matt Bates, who took the time and trouble to listen to my concerns and we arranged a appointment there and then, I strongly recommend Matt to help you train your dog, he is knowledgeable and understanding of what you are trying to achieve whist being very honest in regards to what you and your dog needs are to achieve the goals you want to reach, Matt is friendly and professional at all times, and Pluto and I are having so much fun now as Matts experience have fixed Plutos fears.

We contacted Matt to help us with our 1 year old patterdale cross, Cooper. He had been attacked by another dog and ever since was terrified to go out. He’d jump at any noise and when he saw other dogs approaching, would bark aggressively from fear. It was becoming a nightmare to walk him and we’d try to avoid others when we did go out.
On our first lesson, Matt helped us to take control and reassure Cooper. The difference in lead walking at the end of the first session was amazing. Matt recorded the sessions and sent them to us so we could watch them back and keep applying the techniques.
By the end of our third meeting, Cooper was socialising with other dogs and enjoying walks again.
Matt’s advice and training techniques have worked wonders and we’re finally able to enjoy walks with Cooper and our older dog too.
Matt has kept in touch every step of the way and answered our questions when needed. He’s also introduced us to his own dogs and we’ve had some dog play dates, which Cooper loves.

Thank you for the amazing words. Cooper is actually extremely laid back but was just misunderstood. Now you have the tools he can max out in fun. You guys are so much more relaxed now as well and that is a huge step to succeeding. Well done to everybody involved and thank you for using us, it's been a total pleasure.

I can’t recommend Matt enough. The very first day he walked into our kitchen and met our then 20 week pup Molly she immediately started to respond to him! He has a real presence of a pack leader along with so much affection, positivity and respect for dogs. Molly adores him and we love our training sessions. Matt has taught us how important having a strong engagement is with your pup and how to be pack leaders ourselves. Molly has come on so well with her loose lead walking, recall and general behaviour. Even when she hit adolescence at 7 months and went backwards, Matt remained patient and worked with us to regain all our confidence again. He is always happy to chat outside of sessions if we have worries or questions and is so committed to reaching our goal. We will truly miss working with Matt but feel we have made a friend so look forward to meeting up for walks in the future! More...

Found Matt to be very knowledgeable and friendly. He really cars for the dogs he teaches. We have only had three sessions so far and I have noticed a difference in my dogs already.

We found Matt via google search and called him over for meet and greet and initial assesment for Cocoa who at the time was 5andhalf months. Matt explained to us about his methodology that the training would be for more about our behaviour and approach toward Cocoa and he structured the training in such a way that he accounted for Cocoa's age and the amount of time she can spend in training and extended his session at no extra cost from the usual 6 to 12 which was comfortable for us and Cocoa. He filmed Cocoa's and our behaviour during the session to shows us if we were doing things right or wrong. By the end of the last few sessions we transformed from nervous and clueless dog parents to fairly confident leaders of the pack. We always think we know what we are going with our dogs UNTIL along comes this sweet cuddly Tasmanian Devil . 5 stars for Matt. Ive been trying for years and spent thousands on trying to train my sprocker to return and by session 2 with matt, my dog was returning to me 100%. I cant recommend him enough!

We're only 3 lessons in and the difference in my dog is amazing! I never thought I'd be able to let that dog off lead bit today, we're in the park off lead and his recall was amazing! He's still a work in progress on loose lead walking, but a definite 100% better already! More...

Matt has been amazing with our 2 Jugs, dinner time has never been so much easier, toilet training the younger one worked from the first time we did what he asked us to do. .. his enthusiasm made us really want to work with him and reflect his training in our dogs once he had left...thank you Matt for the help and knowledge you have taught us. I am currently having some training issues with my Staffi and I found Hounds Harmony online. Matt was very quick at replying and putting me at ease. He met us on Tues and Matt is very friendly, calm and approachable.
