I had problems with the laptop I bought from Curry’s PC World about 3 years ago as it was continually booting in safe mode. I took it back to them with hope they’d be able to fix it or give some good advice. The ‘most technical’ member of staff there was no help as he gave no indication the hard drive was damaged and did not know the ‘fireworks’ sound was not the speakers; but the critically ill hard drive. There were lots of long pauses with puzzled looks and the suggestions I got were to pay for the laptop to be sent away, the hard drive to be removed and files transferred onto a new laptop - so I was looking at spending over £1000 for a similar specification laptop and for the file transfer. He did, however, give some useful advice and suggested I take the laptop to a private computer repair company. I think the term: ‘PC World’ is not the best description of that company.I emailed Home Computer Help, Ash got back to me the morning after and I booked the laptop in for a diagnosis. He diagnosed the now-dead hard drive and managed to replace it with a better one. Overall, the service from HCH was excellent, the staff were very knowledgeable and they managed to surpass the service which Curry’s PC World should’ve provided. Bought a new laptop and needed all personal and business data transferred from old desktop computer. Alex visited us at our home office and was amazing. He made it all look so easy and put my mind at rest as I thought it was going to be a difficult job. He explained everything he was doing and gave us a few tips along the way. Had a problem with my home computer a couple of months ago, and the guys at 'Home Computer Help' diagnosed the problem then on instruction made repairs and upgraded my pc. Positives, always kept me informed of what was going on, nice personable approach, competitive price, and good knowledge. Will has done a lot of work for us going back over 6 years when we lived in Southampton. He even repaired a Laptop I sent to him by post from Whitley Bay in the North East after we moved.
