I just wanted to say thank you so much to Rob and his team for coming out to rescue my daughter’s kitten who, on her first weekend out, climbed to the top of the tallest tree and was too scared to come down. After a very anxious and upsetting few hours, we got in touch with Rob and he was able to come out and rescue our beloved Willow Pinky. My daughter was in tears earlier and is now one very happy girl, and Willow Pinky is snoozing away on the sofa. Thank you so so much Rob!! More...

Q&As

I have worked in the fire service since 2008 and have always had a passion for the outdoors and helping others.

I fell in love with the Arboriculture industry and decided to start my own business 10 years ago and have never looked back.

We pride ourselves on providing an affordable, high quality and friendly yet professional service and will always advise on the best course of action to preserve the life of healthy trees and ensure their longevity.

Services

Tree pollarding is a much heavier style of reduction or pruning that takes the main branches of the tree back to its re growth points. Pollarding is usually carried out in late Winter/ early Spring when the trees sap is at its lowest point and is carried out to promote vigorous young regrowth. Pollarding of trees requires regularly repeating and maintaining to prevent from overgrowth and damage.

A crown reduction is where we aim to reduce the overall size of the tree on average by around 25% to reduce the weight on individual branches and stress in the tree. Crown reductions enable the tree to be more suited to its environment, reduce the level of shading and allow for healthy regrowth of the tree. Crown reductions are usually carried out in late Winter/ early Spring depending on its species, growth rate and conditions.

Crown Thinning is a process of removing branches from the internal sections of the trees canopy, reducing the weight on heavy limbs, removing dead branches and allowing more light to come through into the areas surrounding the tree. Crown thinning will not change the overall shape of the tree but ensures a more balanced and healthy structure.

Crown lifting is the removal the lowest branches of the tree that extend out from the trunk. Crown lifting is carried out to create space between the base of the tree and the branches, reduce the weight in the tree and allow more light to pass through the branches.

Fruit tree pruning is a process of removing branches of the tree back to their growth points, removing smaller limbs altogether or removing shoots, buds and leaves. Pruning fruit trees keeps the tree productive, controls its size and encourages vigorous regrowth of flower and fruits. Fruit trees should be pruned yearly, during late Winter or early Spring while the tree is still dormant.

This is where we remove any dead wood from the tree that may be rotten or diseased. Deadwooding enables the tree to appear more healthy and attractive and prevents falling branches. Deadwooding should be carried out to prevent further disease and rot from spreading into the healthier part of the tree and is best carried out to most trees in spring.

Tree removal is a process of removing the whole tree to floor level via climbing or use of Mobile Elevated Working Platform. Tree removal is usually carried out due to diseased, rotten or dead trees. Trees may also be removed if it has outgrown its environment, is causing structural damage or it presents a danger to people or property.

Tree felling is a method of tree removal, usually carried out in large open fields to prevent damage to property. Tree felling maybe carried out to stop the spread of disease, improve safety or to make way for construction sites.

Site clearance involves the complete removal of overgrown trees, hedges and shrubs to create space, change the way the space is used, install fencing or make way for property development or similar.

Ivy capping is the cutting of ivy to prevent it from growing but leaving it in suite to die off naturally. Complete removal is where the root and all ivy is removed to give a new look and prevent further growth.

Hedge maintenance is carried out to encourage growth, maintain its health by removing diseased or dead parts and create an attractive appearance. We recommend that new hedges are trimmed once a year during late Winter/ early Spring and established hedges are trimmed twice a year, once in early Spring and once in early Autumn, this ensures they can be kept dense and compact and keep their appearance.

Hedge removal is the process of removing the whole hedge, usually when dead, diseased or rotten. Hedges may also be removed if they have become too overgrown or a fence in required in its place.

Stump grinding is a process of removing the base of a tree after its removal to below the ground level using a specialist machine with a high speed disc of teeth. A stump grinder is able to grind away stumps and roots of any size into small chip which can then be backfilled into the hole or removed completely for you to fill how you choose. Once the stump has been ground out, the area can be reused if necessary for turfing, re planting, fencing or similar. We recommend waiting for at least a two-week period before re turfing, planting or fencing so that the ground has time to settle and mulch down. Our owned Predator 38x tracked stump grinder is versatile and can be used in a wide range of terrain and in all weathers to remove small, large or multiple stumps including those that may be tricky to reach!
