What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The person in front of the camera, and the person behind the camera, and the rapport between them that determines the right moment to press the button. Sometimes patience is required. Impatience never works.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Why? What? When? Where? How? Are all obvious, but some gentle probing is necessary to get the flavour and needs correctly understood. I prefer to record the natural - no overposing, no over colouring, no bossing around. Modern cameras and lenses can produce excellent results without recourse to disturbing flashes or studio lights.
What do you love most about your job?
Taking photographs that meet my standards and the needs of the client, or just taking images to reach the best possible result.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I know what I can do well, and enjoy the freedom of doing things properly on my own. I have successfully enjoyed several career jobs outside photography where timings were critical, and many more within the profession. There is a thrill in catching the moment - but one has to be prepared for it. Amateurs get lucky - professionals get results.
Why should our clients choose you?
I cannot think for my clients - they know what they want and it is up to me to provide that - but I do need to know: just tell me (beforehand!)
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes - online gives clients more options. I do not tie-them-in to my services. I can also print to large sizes and with giclee if desired. We also bind books, or provide kits for clients to make their own albums (which means printing photographs so that they can be sewn into a proper binding).
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We stayed-in during the epidemic. I am fully inoculated and I prefer to wear a facemask, when appropriate, for protection to, and from, others.

In addition to photography we run our own digital laser printer (up to A3) and giclee (high quality inkjet) (up to A2). We can print on paper or card for service sheets or greetings cards and invitations. We have a binding service for small (basic) albums in addition to servicing the expensive albums. We offer web hosting and related stuff.
All the above are as natural and simple as possible. We do not do over-fancied or over-priced.
