"I was looking for something, but wasn't sure what I needed to get rid of my racing thoughts and anxiety. After understanding more about the brain and a few sessions with Andy I noticed a massive difference. I loved that we didn't talk about the past, only solutions to become the future happier me! I've developed healthy habits, and my thoughts/anxiety/stress levels have fallen. I'm now able to take a logical approach and using the tools that Andy has given me, I'm calmer and more in control of my life. Thank you!!!" More...

I’ve spoken to a lot of people in my life but this time it felt different. No more talking about the past or any negativity, instead purely focussing on the positive changes I can make in my life. It has helped me and my anxiety so much and I also no longer have a phobia of spiders too. Things that could have triggered me before don’t now. I even look forward to the next session! More...

I started to speak to Andy as I was suffering with anxiety and struggling to relax resulting in me feeling exhausted. Even just after a few sessions, I felt calmer, have a better perspective. I am now sleeping much better and have a positive outlook on mine and my family’s future. Thank you Andy for being so supportive, an amazing listener and so good at what you do. More...

I’ve had Andy over a few months. Can highly recommend him for his professionalism and relaxing aura. Makes you feel at ease and comfortable straight away. I found myself being way more productive and getting through my worries easier after each time I would have a session with Andy. More...

"I approached Andy wanting to reduce my flying fear/phobia leading up to a long haul flight, which will ultimately make me enjoy my holiday more. Since our sessions I feel more in control of my thoughts and feelings. I understand why my mind and body does what it does. I’ve enjoyed Andy’s company, he’s personable and really easy to understand. I get the feeling he genuinely gets a sense of satisfaction by helping people. I would recommend hypnotherapy to people as a way of combating a variety of things. Mine initially was a phobia, but linked really nicely into an overall optimistic mindset" More...

Q&As

I know first hand about life’s curve balls, and sometimes they don’t come from external pressures – our thoughts and fears can be our own worst enemy. When we lose our focus, our self-confidence or when our mental health isn’t as good as it could be, it doesn’t just affect us, it can impact our relationships, friendships, career and family life. I’ve been there myself. So, if I can help even one person navigate through this and out the other side it gives me so much joy.

I've been self-employed before, as an HR Consultant, I've owned a recruitment agency, and having re-trained and undertaken roles within mental health, I love having the freedom to help people, have flexibility (as I am also studying to be a counsellor) and also shape my own destiny. I practice what I preach. That was a tough question! Thanks Bark! :)

My therapeutic style is warm, engaging, professional and dare I say ‘fun’. Check out my 'about me' page on my website for more info (or if you just want a nose!).

Yes, I can see you in-person at my cosy therapy room in Upper Heyford (OX25) or remotely online.

I worked in accident and emergency at a hospital during the Covid pandemic, drove an ambulance and also worked with the elderly in that time, so I very much understand the importance of COVID procedures and take infection control very seriously.

I clean by therapy room daily with Clinell wipes in between appointments, and lots of floor mopping, so I very much about keeping my clients safe. I also stipulate in my terms of business, if someone isn't feeling well, not to come to a face to face appointment and I also undertake to do the same.

Services

Sessions last for 50-60 minutes and can be either in-person at my Therapy Room in Upper Heyford (OX25) or Online.

First Part of the Session:

Our sessions will start with non-invasive talking therapy.

I’ll assist you in envisioning your desired future, exploring potential solutions, and setting attainable goals.

These goals are framed to reinforce positive changes and encourage progress.

Through visualising these solutions, the mind begins to create new neurological pathways, reshaping thoughts, emotions, and behaviors toward achieving the desired outcome (related to want you want to achieve through therapy).

Depending on your goals, your sessions could involve elements of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), as appropriate.

This part typically lasts around 30 minutes.

The Second Part of the Session:

The second half involves me gently guiding you into a state of deep relaxation, commonly known as trance/hypnosis.

You can sit up or recline back – whatever feels most comfortable. And yes, trance/hypnosis works just as effectively online as it does face to face.

In this relaxed state, your mind becomes highly receptive to positive suggestions and imagery, enabling you to tap into your subconscious mind with ease. Think of it as a state of highly focused attention.

Your conscious mind is quietened, as you are detached from external attention and critical thinking, allowing your unconscious mind to deeply focus on thoughts and suggestions (the solutions we discussed) that might be useful to you.

Making those solutions a reality, that your rational mind will often reject.
