If there were more than 5 stars I would give them!!!!It's been a long haul getting rid of nearly 20 stone of ugly fat (my ex of course! ) but Deborah has helped me do it. Deborah has remained professional throughout but, unlike other Solicitors, she was personable and friendly too. She felt more like a friend than my solicitor and has helped me through some really tough times. As if that wasn't enough, Jade was absolutely amazing when I phoned to ask if conveyancing could be done urgently. She was kind, friendly and sympathetic after another local solicitors company had spoken to me in a very rude, unhelpful manner. Alison then went on to work the quickest case of conveyancing ever known to man!! However, having seen what I consider to be malicious 1 star comments I felt it was time to post my own review. As a Barrister I have dealt with Hayden Solicitors on many occasions. They are the firm where I send my own friends and acquaintances. Deborah and her team provide the highest levels of professional service, advice and client care for everyone I recommend. It seems to me the 1 star reviews are more than likely being posted by a bitter ex who has been embroiled in legal proceedings, on the opposing side to Hayden's. That in itself is testimony to the great service that Hayden's give their actual clients. Take my advice, ignore the sad and bitter individual who seems to want to unjustly damage the hardworking and dedicated people in this practice. Children matters
As a parent you will have to make difficult decisions about your children whilst you go through a separation, and afterwards. Often it is difficult to agree on the best way forward with your partner. We are sensitive to these issues, and have many years of experience in helping parents to resolve their disputes in the best possible interests of the children.
Where children live, and other issues about contact with parents. These are often the biggest issues facing parents who separate. If you and your partner cannot agree which of you your children should live with, or how often each of you should see the children, or how parental responsibility should be exercised, then either parent may apply to the court for a decision.
Please be aware that there is no such thing as "custody" any more in the UK in respect of a child.
If you and your partner cannot agree about financial or other arrangements that affect your children, either of you can apply to the court to decide any issue about the children’s care and well being.
Wills and Estate Planning
Wills
A Will is an important and relatively inexpensive document for everyone to have. It can settle not just what happens to your property and money, but also your wishes in relation to the care of your children and any other express wishes you may have. None of us want to think about what happens when we die, but there sadly is no greater certainty in life and not having a Will, or having a badly drafted one, can cause many problems for your loved ones when you pass. We know this because we have to deal with the expensive and distressing consequences of those situations.
Let us help you with your Will - it gives peace of mind and you are never too young to do this. We advise all our family clients to make their Will and provide a discounted service to existing clients. Lasting Power of Attorney
There are two different types of powers of attorney, one for your health and welfare and one for property and finances. You may not need one now, but by the time you do, you may be too poorly to do so. You are still in charge of your affairs unless and until the power is registered and even then you can attach conditions to the powers you want to give.
If you needed one and you had not already put this in place then your family may have to apply for a Deputyship order from the court - which is an expensive and long process. This can easily be avoided - it's like having insurance.
Trusts
A trust is something most people probably think they would never need - they are just for rich people, right?! No in fact they are not just for rich people. More and more of our clients are securing the line of inheritance for their bloodline relatives by creating a simple trust for their home or assets. This can also save on probate fees, sometimes avoid probate completely and can be advantageous for inheritance tax even in modest estates. We will refer to you to an independent tax advisor if necessary.
