Hi! I am a professional musician with 20 years’ playing experience. As a teacher, I want to create a fun, friendly learning environment, where you can explore your musical interests and make genuine progress. Some of my students have been taking lessons with me for 5+ years.

I'm a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Masters, jazz bass) and Cardiff University (undergrad, classical guitar), achieving the highest classification in both. As a performer, I'm currently working with various artists and bands spanning funk & soul, pop/rock, jazz, RnB, and musical theatre.

I teach all ages and abilities and I cover a wide range of genres - jazz, rock, classical, pop etc. I regularly help students with:

-All aspects of technique
-Learning songs
-Preparing for grade exams
-Music theory, chords & scales
-Improvisation
-Rhythm & groove
-Composition

As well as guitar and bass lessons, I often get enquiries about more general areas of musicianship too, whether that’s working on rhythm & groove, composition, or improvisation. If there’s any aspect of music you’d like to learn about but don’t see it here, get in touch - I may be able to help.

Fees are £38/hour, or £35/hour before 3.30pm. I also have 30 min, 45 min, and 90 min options. Lessons take place in my home, online, or I can travel to you for an extra fee. I usually have some teaching availability on weekdays - get in touch to let me know what you're looking for and we can book in a lesson!

As well as my own private tuition, I have been on the teaching staff for both guitar and bass at Cardiff's Vale School of Music (where all of my examined pupils achieved distinction) and currently teach at Musicland East in Molesey, Surrey.
