Criminals!
I used Harlequin as an agent for a house I rented. They found me an excellent tenant, who is still renting my house12 years later.
I had to stop using Harlequin when I found out in a conversation with the tenant that they had increased the rent without telling me and kept it. THIS IS FRAUDULENT! At the time I didn't have the time or energy to go to the Police but I have kept all the evidence.
I made them pay all the money they stole back to the tenant.
I would advise all Landlords using Harlequin to check with their Tenants that the rent has not been fraudulently increased.
Their favourite trick is to do 6 month lets even when they have been told to do 12 month periods, so they can charge admin fees each time.
Harlequin are totally unscrupulous and if any attempt is made to remove this review I will start legal proceedings and have your web of deceit uncovered.

Efficient , quick and professional We have now left this agency a few weeks ago. Throughout our time with this agency we have found no problem is too big of small for the staff. I have been a tenant of Harlequins for two houses now. The first house was in Barlby. The property had some damp problems and Harlequin were great at getting it sorted really quick (they even paid for a decoration). After I fell pregnant I needed a bigger house and I needed to move. I got my bond back really quick which made my next move so much easier. I moved agencies and really regretted it. I now rent with Harlequins in Riccall and the staff have been really helpful. Through circumstances which need bother no-one else, my wife and I rent a property through them. I cannot speak highly enough of the company, the staff and the maintenance contractor they use. Each time I have a problem with the property, such as a minor roof leak in the garage, the problem is addressed instantly by E mail, the contactor turns up as promised, does a good job, and the company follow up to check that we are satisfied. I've had built several houses, renovated and extended several more, so I have knowledge of the property management regime. Harlequin have never let me down, have always fulfilled my very high expectations, and they ensure that the property is maintained in an excellent condition on behalf of the owner. They do positively care about us as tenants, but we reciprocate by co-operating with them on any issues, which works to everyone's benefit. Lovely staff and very helpful, I currently rent with harlequin and have found all the staff to be great, we have had a few maintenance issues a leaking Tap, broken guttering and a broken lock on the door and all have been dealt with in a super fast way with no problems, I would defiantly recommend renting with them

I've been a tenant in two properties manged by Harlequin. In both I've had problems with the landlord, but Harlequin has always been helpful. In my last case Jemma from Harlequin fought my battle with the landlord who made unjustified claims. It took some time, but eventually I got the full bond back.I would also like to point out that the fees are much cheaper at Harlequin compared to the rest of the agencies in and around Selby.I suggest you visit a few letting agencies in Selby and then visit Harlequin - you'll feel the difference straight away. I have rented a couple of houses from harlequin and they have always helped me and never had any problems. I hear all sorts of stories by them, but from my experience I can't fault them. I recently used harlequin property services to rent a property. I received a brilliant service, all queries and questions that I had were answered quickly and clearly. They made renting a property super easy from finding the property and viewing it, to signing and receiving the keys in a very short space of time.
