Q&As

We start by discussing the clients expectations to establish the brief. The next step is to prepare some initial sketches along with a collection of precedent images for presentation to the client to further establish the clients preferences prior to working up a final layout with internal elevations and plans. Depending on the agreed scope we may include internal visualisations of the space.

We will aim to cater our approach towards the clients preferences. Therefore we will work with the client to establish their preferences. We feel each design is unique and therefore we are not restricted to one particular style.

I love a challenge, and designing to meet a clients aspirations and goals can be greatly rewarding. By working with a client to determine a desired style / aesthetic it means each project is unique. A project should always take in to consideration its users with a clear awareness of how the space will be used and experienced. It is this variety that we love the most as it means each project will inevitable have its own character developed derived from a clients needs and preferences.

Opportunity to take on new work and be my own boss.

I love what I do and if hired will work diligently with you to provide a design which meets your requirements. The design process should be enjoyable so the aim is always to help guide the client through the design process and assist them in making informed decisions in order to reach a successful end product.

In the last year there has been a big shift from traditional work practices to working remotely. We are well experienced working remotely now and utilising virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom to setup project meetings and presentations to run through specific project/ design issues. We are very comfortable working in this way alongside more traditional correspondence such as email and telephone.

We comply with the government recommendations with regards to Covid-19 best practice. Social distancing, masks, hand santization, restricting travel etc. are all issues that we take seriously.

Services

Prepare planning application for client

A feasibility study is conducted to consider the viability of a potential project, understand the possible challenges and assess the opportunities.

A tender package is prepared to allow the client to ascertain quotes from contractors to carry out the works. In this package we will prepare a set of drawings including the following:

Existing Plans and Elevations
General Arrangement Plans
Proposed Elevations
Proposed Sections
Internal Elevations
Detail Drawings
Specifications (NBS)
Schedules

During this stage we would also work with other specialists contracted by the client (such as a structural engineer, services/ M&E engineers, quantity surveyor etc.). who would also prepare drawings and reports for the project.

For an additional fee we can produce internal visualisations of a space based on a particular design. We can create 360 degree views as a means of experiencing a space virtually or alternatively prepare internal CGI rendered views (a fixed perspective from a particular point).
When preparing internal visualisations we will need to model the space before sending three possible views for the client to select from. Upon confirmation of the view we will begin to apply materials, and furnishing etc. to work up the image. A final draft will be sent for comment before a final image is worked taking onboard the comments. Any further revisions and comments to the work at this stage would result in additional fees to cover the additional work.

For an additional fee we can produce external visualisations of a space based on a particular design. These are particularly useful when trying to get a better understanding of how a particular design will actually look in space and help develop a detailed material palette. For larger projects these may be included in the tender package however we can also prepare initial visualisations for planning and feasibility packages.
