Very disappointing food. Ordered a coffee and fresh scone. But what I got was 3 small smart price fruit and cherry scones looking lost on a plate. I don't like cherries (that should have been in the description on the menu), but I started to pick them out. But after sampling and realising the scones were also tasteless I gave up. I am astounded that it is considered acceptable to serve this rubbish. If you want a fresh scone, I'd definitely go elsewhere. More...

Half of the menu was unavailable, not informed of this when asked if staying for food. We had nearly an hour wait for 2 poor burgers despite being only one of 3 tables in the entire pub. Overall poor value for money. Sadly, won’t be returning. More...

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS and very accommodating for allergies. I came for a celebration and usually at an event like this it goes incredibly wrong. Not here, they asked me if was the celiac that ate meat or the vegetarian, I said meat and she asked my name and said yep, we will have the same food but prepared gluten free and gluten pastry on the pie. The evening buff they made me gluten free sandwiches served safely and separate to avoid contamination. The food was delicious the service was amazing and I’m glad I live local so I can go back. It’s an absolute must having a chef that understands allergens and doesn’t make you feel your a burden and this place definitely has a chef that cares. Popped in for lunch and had the plate pie which was £8.95 with a drink. Pie was absolutely gorgeous and homemade chips amazing, would highly recommend and such a good price. All staff lovely so great service

The food here is sooo good, really big portions and great quality, even for me as vegetarian I had loads of choice. Can't wait to try more things off the menu! Lovely views and the staff created a really enjoyable atmosphere. Got to sample some of the beers and wines before buying so I'd know I liked it. Went here with my Family last Thursday and had the absolute best night! Would recommend this place to everyone. We used to go here back in the days but it's upgraded so much since the renovations, I don't even know where to start. First of all it's located at a beautifull spot next to the river where you've got the option to either sit outside next to the river or you get one of the beautiful spots inside. The staff was super friendly and food was served quickly. If you want good quality + a massive portion of food this is the place to go, can't wait to go back here and try the rest of the menu! Wonderful upgrade to the place and the menu is so much better than previous times and recently had our second visit, BUT……. Same problem. There needs to be a 7pm (or earlier) cut-off time for children in the restaurant so that it’s adults only. My party of six had a food and wine bill of over £200 and for that we didn’t expect screaming and shouting children running past our table both visits. Owners need to decide if the upstairs in the evening is a restaurant or a play area. It can’t be both when expecting a customer to pay up to £30 for a steak meal. More...

We used to come here at least once, sometimes twice, a year and stay in the pods. Loved it. Then it all closed. The reopening caused me to almost gasp! ! We ate a main meal every day with drinks; the price, a little over 20 pound. Now, looking at the menu, you would be lucky to get two adult meals. It feels now, it's become a place of a money rip off. Just cannot swallow any justification for nearly doubling the price. Very sad and disappointing that it won't be a place that we'll be visiting any time soon. More...

We stayed in one of the cottages, from start to end of our stay it was perfection. Beautiful views with the river lune running beside the Pub. The pub is such a wonderful place to eat and drink. The restaurant upstairs is very stylish and with some great historical pieces perfectly placed in the restaurant. Down stair is for me amazing, I love historical building and this is one of the best Pubs and restaurants I've been to. Staff are very attentive, very welcoming and light hearted. They all look very smart, will do anything or try and answer a question you may have. When you have a great place like the Golden Ball is, having these amazing staff on board, will help grow such a wonderful place. Thank you. More...

Such a beautiful location . The food and decor lovely . Accommodation looks lovely but the mattress was terrible and the tap in the sink ran for a second then stopped. Hopefully this will be resolved and possibly and outdoor shelter outside the pub ? Breakfast options would be good too More...

we are staying at the accomodation on site which is lovely.playground beautiful grounds.football . great value menu with drink for kids and adults was perfect for us everyone enjoyed there meal . met loads of lovely kids welcome sight seeing them all play . Snatchems deserves to do well. The manager was superb, showing me to a table and bringing our drinks out. I had chicken in the basket, tasty good value meal, £8 or with a drink £10. The staff were polite and asked if everything was OK. My only bugbear was that one of the staff was chewing gum but I'm old fashioned. 5🌟 at least, I'd give more if I could! More...
