GM Improvements are the best company I’ve ever had. As a single woman living on my own I often have work done in and around the house. Unfortunately a lot of work men see this as an opportunity to double the price of the quote as they think I’m unsure of what has to be done and how much it may cost. When looking to get a new roof for our home we had several quotations. Gary came around and listened to what we wanted. He was the only one who took the time to actually go up onto the roof, measure accurately and take time to explain what he would do and how he would do it. His quote was very fair and itemised so that you knew exactly what you were getting. Work began in what can only be described as some of the worst weather we’ve had in in years. This of course caused some delays to the job but Gary was excellent in his level of communication and kept us informed every step of the way. There was an issue with a roof light but Gary and his team listened and it was sorted immediately. The roof has been completed for over a month now. The workmanship is excellent and it looks fantastic. I would highly recommended Gary as an honest and trustworthy tradesman. I would not hesitate to use him again. Had a leaky roof for a while now but I kept getting let down by contractors.Spoke to another contractor this morning and received a rediculous quote for what I thought was required and just laughed. I happened to stumble across Garry's number and rang him for a quote. He went one better, dragged his man flued body out of bed and completed the repair within a couple of hours. He did this for me as the weather was turning bad and to help me out. GM home improvements work on a customer satisfation basis rather than pulling the wool over someone's eyes. What can I say. This firm is the best. They have just finished putting a new roof on my house and it looks fantastic. From the first contact with Gary, through to clearing up after finishing, everything has been so proficient and professional. From the exceptional quote he gave me, and the use of the best materials, I am just so impressed. His team of roofers were wonderful, and barely stopped, meaning my roof was completed in 3 working days. Gary was recommended by a neighbor when we said we wanted a new roof. We rang Gary, and he came to see us. We were "at ease, and comfortable " with the whole approach to the job. Gary took photos of the roof and then discussed what was needed and how he would approach the work. He also recommended the removal of a unused chimney, something we hadn't thought of, he also removed a roof window that we didn't need. The men that did the work were professional and courteous throughout the whole of the works. Having employed a local builder to complete an extension to my driveway, who after many months failed to complete the work I decided to contact Gary. I had emailed five builders with a photograph of the area I required extending and only Gary replied. He was very professional and explained fully how he would complete the work and over what timeline, along with a very reasonable quotation. Gary has done a brilliant job on our block paved driveway. It wraps around the house to also provide a patio area. Despite weather delaying aspects of the job and our deciding to have a wall built, which wasn't in our original plan, he remained totally professional in his approach, always informing us of what he was doing and discussing options open to us. Both Gary and his assistant, Jake, were very respectful of not just us, but of our neighbours too. Gary has recently completed work on block paving our driveway.. and we are delighted with the result. In just 4 days our new roof was completed with hardly any mess at all, the roofers were hard working and polite. we did not have to worry about anything as Gary made sure it was all organised. I had a problem with my guttering and hit yell.com in the hopes of finding someone suitable to fix the issue. I was at first a little sceptical of the consistent five star reviews; however having Gary come and look at the problem immediately made it clear that the five stars are unequivacably deserved. He was polite and knowledgable, so much so he'd figured out what the issue was before hed even seen my guttering and come prepared to do the job there and then. My guttering was fixed within fifteen minutes, including replacement parts. I happily paid the very reasonable price and was left confident that the issue would not come back. We contacted Gary after having a few tiles blown off roof in recent winds. We also had damp on the inside chimney breast. Gary took photographs of the chimney stack to show us the extent of the problem . Lucky for us we had it checked as the pots were close to being blown off. The problems were all fixed in a morning with stack freshly bedded and pots capped and even old aeriel taken down on request. Very reasonble price too. I contacted Gary as I needed some roof repairs doing, based upon the glowing reviews that have been posted. From the outset I was impressed by Gary. He talked me through the job on the phone and then face to face and I felt confident about his knowledge and the quality of the work he would do.
