Coaching was something I was initially reluctant to try as I didn't believe it was for me, but Paul was brilliant. He clearly explained the process and timescales of what we could achieve and held me to account throughout our sessions.

Gibson Consulting provided invaluable coaching as well as mentoring for one of our emerging senior managers recently. Paul's style is very warm and engaging and he immediately puts the person he's working with at ease. However, this is backed up by a clear, understandable and logical framework which allows Paul to quickly determine his client's current mindset and then discover where the focus of the coaching process should be, in alignment with the client's personal and corporate goals. I have attended regular coaching sessions since 2020 with Paul, who is my first regular coach since I became HR Director at the Charity.

I always look forward to our sessions and used to think of them as being rather indulgent – a whole hour or more spent talking about me and what’s going on! – but actually they are hugely beneficial and I value the dedicated ‘headspace’ time. It is so useful to be able to park an issue temporarily if I know it’s something I need to talk through more during coaching.
The sessions have enabled me to maintain my own wellbeing and positivity while dealing with difficult situations, they have increased my personal resilience and have helped me to find solutions to complex issues.

Paul’s laidback approach makes it easy to have an open dialogue, I can say exactly what I am thinking and feeling without judgement and this means I am able to find the best way forward. It’s not always immediate and some things take longer but to know that there is someone there who takes a genuine interest and is willing and able to support me is invaluable.

After 35 years of experience in business as a senior director in the corporate world and developing my own companies, I now help individuals and organisations grow and fulfill their goals.

I am a professional sounding board. I listen, support and challenge in a unique way that allows executives to improve their performance exponentially.

I have real experience in numerous industries at a senior level over a few decades. I listen carefully to understand before I offer any thoughts or guidance. My coaching is based on your reality and providing clarity.

Services

Coaching is a relationship that helps you understand where they are, where you want to be and how to get there. I will listen and question to help unlock potential and purpose. Over time an action plan will develop once clarity of thought is established. You will find the solution within yourself, supported by the coach.

The agenda is generally more specific and aims at short-term improvements, which may be small steps in the right direction.

I am there to listen and open up your personal and professional potential. This is achieved through questioning and inspiring new ways of thinking and perspective.

Mentoring is a two-way relationship, usually developing into a longer-term commitment on both sides to achieve long-term goals. These aims are defined at the start before the program begins. It is important that expectations are clear on both sides and there is a ‘fit’ between us.

My role is to listen actively, question, and provide potential solutions or options and information to enhance your thought process.

Short-term and long-term goals determined at the outset will be measured and checked for success and progress. Your journey plan is as important as your proposed destination.
