I needed a new garden gate as mine had seen far better days. At a local charity event, I won a £100 gift voucher that had been donated by Gates and Fences UK. I had planned to purchase a gate from the local timber merchants but thought I may as well use the voucher instead. The gate would have been quite expensive if it hadn't have been for the voucher but you really do get what you pay for. Its absolutely beautiful, a wooden piece of art. I'm so proud of my new gate! Great customer service and excellent product. We had our beautiful gates delivered but somehow, the delivery courier had managed to loose the bolt to lock the gates. Called gates and fences straight away to inform them and had a new one the very next day. No messing around, quick and easy solution. The gates are perfect. Always anxious of buying online. I prefer to touch and feel something prior to ordering - especially when spending so much money. Fantastic gates but let down by courier. Really can't fault the gate itself. Its well made and exactly the size I ordered. Unfortunately it was the delivery company they choose to use that was the issue. I took the morning off so that I could be there to collect the gate rather than leaving it in safe place. The gate didn't turn up till 6pm! Awful excuse by the courier as to why they were late. In this day and age with tracking systems etc, you would think they could get this right. Gate excellent quality and arrived ahead of delivery date -which did cause a bit of an issue due to shortness of notice & conflicting advice about having to be present to accept it. Delivery company, Tuffnells wanting signature whilst Gates & Fences stating one wasn't needed. Cue urgent telephone call to G & F seeking confirmation about whom was to believed. It appears that Tuffnells are still to implement a new tracking system which would allow them to specify a delivery time slot. Did have contact G & F again about missing 'plug' but one came in following days post. One slight niggle -pet hate of mine- was the packing material used to protect the gate. As you can imagine there was quite a lot and whilst the plastic wrapping will be used for various alternatives etc the foam mouldings cannot and will have to be binned. I've suggested a biodegradable version could be used instead as it would certainly improve the company's 'green' credentials. Overall good product hence the four stars just needs to tweaks to its service in order to give it that extra star. More...

Having spent the day in my garden I realised my side gates didn't match and were looking a bit rubbish, looked on the internet found Gates & Fences, placed an order, they arrived a week late but wow didn't expect the high standard of wrapping, unwrapped and wow again the wooden gates were built to a heavier and more substantial standard than I expected, excellent product, if I ever need another gate I will be back.
