Gastro Catering

Gastro since the very first enquiry have been absolutely amazing. With all the things you have to worry and think about when planning a wedding - Gastro helped take a lot of the stress away from the catering side of things. Having told them the kind of wedding we were planning (laid back, family barbecue atmosphere) they presented us with a few ideas and menu templates to look over and tweak. Everything could be tailored and customised to our choosing and they were extremely flexible. The reception drinks and canapes were delicious and attractive. For the breakfast we went for a 3 meat barbecue menu, meat waiter served from platters and table salads, pasta, quinoa and fries to share! It could not have gone better. The food was amazing, the wine went down very easily and all the servers were courteous, polite but at the same time personable. We were absolutely thrilled with all staff there on the day, they were friendly and seemed very happy to help - always seeming to go that extra mile. The guests were all blown away by their service and the food! For our evening we had gastro provide staff for a bar and unlimited drinks package which was also amazing and very good value. The range of drinks on offer surpassed my expectations and had we gone down the route of prebuying the drink for our guests we would have had to worry about under/over ordering and what to do had we run out! They had several types of bottled beer and cider. Delicious red, white and sparkling wine, every spirit you could shake a stick at - and were happy to provide the glasses for some tactical jaeger bombs! Again the staff were really the star of the show, patient and calm towards those who may have had a bit too much to drink (or excitement) as well as funny, polite and relaxed. Where to start?! Jess and the team from Gastro catered our wedding in September and they were incredible! They understood exactly what we wanted and loved the idea of a fully vegetarian wedding! Jessica worked with us to put together a great menu, and her help & experience in organising the day was really useful. On the day, it was all fantastic – everything ran like clockwork, the food tasted amazing and loads of guests commented on how good the servers and bar staff were. After our original caterers went bankrupt only 4 weeks before our wedding day, Aaron and his team at Gastro Catering stepped up last minute to cater our wedding 4 weeks ago. I have nothing but positive things to say with regards to the service on the day which was impeccable. From the moment we had our first meeting with Gastro we knew we were in good hands. Beforehand and on the day, their communication was faultless so that we felt completely at ease and didn't need to think of a thing ourselves on the day. They are an extremely creative team and went above and beyond what we expected of them- even down to the detailing on the bar (e.g. bringing cute little bar signs and the bar man wearing braces). Jess and everyone at Gastro Catering did a fantastic job for our wedding at The Dreys on 30th June - from the initial tasting to the final service, everything was seamless and the food was incredible. The canapes were beautifully presented, and they even garnished our cake for us. We had a shared platter style at our wedding and was perfect for the laid back vibe we were aiming for, with plenty of food and amazing seasoning. Absolutely incredible from start to finish! Olivia made the planning so easy and any request we had she made happen and she handled everything in the most professional manner. The tasting was amazing and the food on the day looked exactly how it had in the tasting. On the day all of the guests raved about the food and service, even a very pick chef friend was really impressed. Jess was a dream onsite manager, every detail was preempted and actioned before I could blink. She made sure that my husband and I were fed and watered through the day and generally checked in to make sure that we were happy with everything. She was amazing! We owe a HUGE thank you to Gastro Catering for making our wedding day run so smoothly. Jessica was highly organised, professional and flexible throughout our interactions with her leading up to the day. We have had an enormous amount of compliments about the wonderful food (canapés, tapas and BBQ included) and the super attentive catering staff from our guests. All staff on the day were incredibly professional and friendly and went out of their way to help guests - even making a sandwich for an elderly evening guest who was hungry before the evening food was scheduled. I can’t recommend Gastro Catering highly enough!!We were in the tricky position of organising our UK wedding from Sydney, at the same time as arranging an international move! ! Needless to say this was a challenge! But while we were in Oz they communicated regularly answering every question we threw at them and always happy to help and tweak the proposal to what we had in mind.We only arrived in the country 3 weeks before the big day and if it wasn’t for Jess’s patience, understanding and attention to detail I honestly think we’d never have got the wedding on track!! Gastro Catering were quite simply amazing! We hired them to provide a champagne and canapes reception at our wedding, followed by a three course dinner. All members of their team were unobtrusive, professional and delightful. The food was fantastic - all our guests commented on the wonderful canapés and on the food and wine at dinner. After all the planning and preparation for our wedding, in the event everything went smoothly and seamlessly. On the day, this was totally down to Gastro Catering and their team. We used Gastro catering for our wedding in June 2018 and could not recommend them more highly. From the very first conversation we had on the phone, to the last fork being cleared away a year later, they were absolutely fantastic. The team was led by Jess who was utterly brilliant. Any bespoke request we had during the planning phase was always greeted with “of course we can”. Her professionalism was outstanding. On the day she took it upon herself to help with so much more than just the food and drink, familiarising herself with everything from our lighting to our guest list. The food was delicious with clean plates all round and the service was impeccable. The unlimited drinks package was truly “unlimited” in every sense of the word; every palate was catered for and the drinks never stopped flowing. Having arrived to the reception site at the crack of sparrows, the gastro catering team were the very last to leave our wedding at 2:00 am (or probably later!!), yet their attentiveness and cheerfulness never wavered. To all at Gastro catering, and especially Jess, thank you SO much for contributing such a huge part to our special day! Wow !!!! We organised our wedding in less than 5 weeks and chose Gastro Catering as they are local and had a very good reputation Our initial enquiry was handled by Callum who did all the planning and menu design As we held our party in a marquee supplied by Eurika we needed to have all the furniture delivered and set up Gastro handled all this I could not believe how fantastic it all looked before our guests arrived On the day Jess Lake handled everything and was incredibly well organised We had a Thai menu and the food was delicious and presented beautifully Jess and her team created a wonderful friendly atmosphere and we cannot thank her enough for making our party so special I’ve had so many messages from our friends complementing us on such a memorable party I have no idea what time she finished but when I turned up next morning everything had been tidied away ready to be collected Thank you Gastro Jess Lake and your incredible team Phill and Hazel

I cannot recommend the services of Gastro Catering more highly. They provided food and service for our combined 50th/60th birthday party with a festival theme. Jessica made some excellent suggestions for the evening and was really flexible, working with our budget and responding well to our required changes throughout the planning phase. The staff on the night were just amazing and so well organised. They responded to the relaxed mood and were very warm and friendly. Lecia, Callum and Paula could not have been more appropriate for our event and our friends are still complementing us on the outstanding quality of the paella, pork belly, burgers, falafel, halloumi and salads. The concerns I had about under catering were clearly a waste of time! Gastro Catering catered my wedding, they did so much more than the catering though, everything about their service was above and beyond. Their staff could not have been more polite and helpful, the event manager kept everything smooth running behind the scenes and was flexible in terms of timing, not to mention the "family style" food was amazing and just what we had asked for.
