We had a fantastic experience with the Fresh Solar guys. The first point of contact was Leo who has come to survey our house. Leo has been great in answering all our questions and accomodating all our requests, he would quickly respond even to out of hours queries! Installation was booked in a week, scaffolding went up one day after paying in our deposit and everything was completed just before Christmas! Really helpfully and informative company, Leo provided strong technical advice, it was discussion rather than a sales pitch and we talked through our energy usage and realistic expectations, solar system was installed a week from placing the order and completed in one working day, quality of install can't be faulted and talking to the two installers they were direct employed, (company van and clothing) and also very knowledgeable, as well as being very polite and considerate, can't recommend Leo and Fresh enough!!

From the sales visit from Leo through to installation I am very happy with Fresh Electrical. I had 20 panels and 3 x batteries. No nonsense from the get go and what they said would be installed was installed. The job is neat enough, completed professionally and was working immediately. All aftersales was handled well and I felt supported. Gave the go ahead on Friday, whole system installed by the very next Friday. Quite frankly no other company can do that. Price wise they are about the same as most others but I had quite a bit of being messed around by other companies so any comparison ends there. The system works well and even charges our Tesla (yes you can charge a Tesla from the sun with a PV system and Tesla Wall Charger, you just have to reduce the amps charge in the Tesla app, (Tesla said it would not work and they were wrong). It is slow but it does work. It's still early days for me and trying to figure out the best approach to using the system but I am satisfied. Thank you Leo and everyone at Fresh Electrical. Superb!!! Super speedy call from Leo. Very friendly guy and arranged a visit. Confidently explained how it all works and how we could maximise the roof space to meet our solar energy needs as a household of 4. Clear cost breakdown and full.explanation of the product and service. Super refreshing given that we'd received 2 other "quotes" from companies that just didn't compare. I bought a hot tub and only realised afterwards how much electricity it used so looked for an effective way to offset the cost. My daughter had just used Fresh Electricals to install her solar panels and was very pleased. I got 6 quotes apart from them and Fresh Electricals was the best quote and did not give me false information so with confidence I asked them to do the work. I have 16 panels as I need to generate around 6 Kwh a year with my hot tub, they installed 2 batteries and advised that I get a smart meter and register with Octopus for my exporting which I did. I haven't looked back. I am earning hopefully enough in the summer to offset my hot tub costs in the winter. In this current climate I am well into profit at the same time keeping my carbon footprint as low as I could. The interest free loan helped and I hope to balance out my costs within the next 6 or more years after that its going to be all profit. Thank you for your help and advice. More...

Originally gave this 5 star but have lowered to 3 on further reflection. The actual process was smooth and pleasurable and the installation was again a smooth easy process. I have had solar installed for around 2 months and looking back now there are a few things that I don’t think were handled as efficiently as they could be. The salesman who came round was polite and informative throughout the whole experience, He convinced me I was better on a pay monthly scheme over paying in full even though I was in a position to buy outright , after a month of being on the payment plan I paid off in full as it’s cheaper than paying interest. Was told I “will never pay for electric again” this isn’t exactly the case, found I spent about £10 in the past month but in theory once I get paid for the surplus electric , that may cancel out. But in winter I don’t see the minimal amount of sunlight charging the battery and then supporting the house through the long evenings. I was also advised to switch to “octopus energy” once the panels where installed and received the documentation/certification. (Which takes about a month after the panels are installed) So I did just that with a month of power going back to the grid with no financial gain , then once I signed up to octopus I was told to wait a further month to get the smart meter installed (needed for the solar energy buyback scheme ) and then it’s a further step to register once the smart meter is installed. If I registered the day I got the panels installed it would have worked out about right , but waiting a month for the certificate before contacting the energy company has lost me further money in a very sunny April so the grid has benefited more than I have there. Would I recommend this company , yes , everything is as advertised . Would I also recommend signing up to your desired energy company immediately (if you are going to change) 100% More...

Installed last year 24 solar panels with Fresh Electrical. Since the panels were up on the roof the problems never finished. The last problem was in September 2022. One fuse was going off all the time. It’s been sorted then. Now the problem is back. The fuse goes off every day and the electricity come from grid not from the solar panels. After I’ve spent £16500 for the panels power comes from the grid. No problems during the winter!! The system(24 panels )was producing between 3 and 5 kw per day!! Nobody told me that before to sign the contract! Now I can’t get in touch with anyone. They don’t answer the phones!! I don’t know how to get in touch with them. More...

Unfortunately my experience with fresh electrical solar wasn't the greatest. They started really good, with lots of attention given. But after I payed the 25% deposit requested, things changed and I felt left aside. My emails were not answered as quick as before. I was expecting to be told how to use the givenergy app to make the most of it. Nothing was said by the after sales team. Exactly, the after sales is what I was most disappointed. I had to google to get familiarised with the app and learn how to use it. Also Youtube was very helpful. I expected the solar panels to perform much better according to what the sales person said about the product, shortly after I realised she was just trying selling me the product. After my research, I found out the solar system is working fine but it will not supply 100% of my household needs as I thought if i was very good with my energy savings. Basically, i was told what I wanted to hear to buy what they were trying to sell. It can be really difficult to have emails replied. Sometimes i had to send the same email to different people to get my question answered. When the engineers came to get the job done, they were very polite, I must say. The only thing I have to say about them, is because I was not 100% satisfied with the way the bird protection was fitted. Some places a small bird easily can go underneath and i was only able to see it after the scaffolding was gone, because it was blocking my view, unfortunately. Another thing I was not very happy with was the fact that the scaffolding was up in my back garden for 19 days after the installation of the solar panels. I was unable to open my garage's side door and bedroom windows fully. I had to argue to get it removed. What they sayed to sell the produt was the scaffolding was gonna be put up on da1, day two would be installation of the solar and the third day scaffolding was gonna be removed. If you live in a conservation area, dont bother with this company. I was very keen to sign up with them. I asked could I please buy a scaled drawing for the roof panel layout as requested by my local authority. Not a big ask and I was perfectly willing to pay for this. My "salesman" said "yes, I will contact the office and get straight back to you". I waited and waited, nothing. I called him. He said "A scaled plan? I have never heard of it". I thought, ah, so what am I dealing with here. So so disappointed as the "salesman" did a good job and I was ready to go ahead. He then said "I warned you that getting panel in a conservation area would be a problem". He did nothing of the sort and was here a full hour taking photos and looking around, explaining how much I would save etc. etc. He did a good job. I was convinced. But someone up there was looking after me as it has all come to nothing and I am mightly glad it has. Fell at the first hurdle. No advice where I could get a plan, just nothing. Disappointed but pleased that this company and their "standards" wont be coming to my home. More...

I wouldn’t recommend fresh electrical to any friends or family, in fact family have learnt from my experience to make sure they get the right service from other suppliers. Bird netting is a waste of money, as the way it was fitted doesn’t cover the whole panel only the very inside centre, as a result I have loads of pigeons now nesting and causing a lot of noise and mess. I have cables running up and over the roof, other suppliers make sure these are run through the roof and out of sight. I also don’t believe I have enough optimisers, as shading really affects my panels in the afternoon. Again other suppliers seem to add optimisers on all panels, certainly any that suffer from shading. The optimisers I do have, interfere with my system, meaning the app doesn’t show the system information a lot of the time. The system only has wifi, and no direct Ethernet connection is apparently possible. I am now seeking another company, to come and install proper bird protection at additional cost to me, and to talk about optimisers, extra batteries, and extra panels. I won’t go back to fresh for this. I should really try to get my money back for the bird protection, but not sure I have the strength to go through all the phone calls, delays in getting back to me, stress etc. More...

Reasonably quote followed by a quick installation (5 weeks from contract to installation). 10 panels and battery. The installers were polite and answered any question we had. We only had it installed in December but it is producing well even in January/February. I am still not sure if we should have gone with a bigger battery but we can run our daily appliances without needing to use any mains power and still charge the house battery fully on sunny days so we are very happy with our system. The only reason I am going to rate them 4 stars is their admin staff seemed very disorganised. While our main point of contact (Leo) was helpful and quick to respond to issues, the admin staff repeatedly sent me the out-of-date forms to sign after the original installation plan was changed on the day of installation.
