My wife and I hired Fotogenic of Scotland to capture our wedding day in May 2019 and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. From the initial meeting with Michael it was clear that he was the right person for us: his enthusiasm and support in helping us plan the timeline of events on the wedding day surely comes from his many years of experience in capturing such events - his calm and friendly demeanour is exactly what is required on what can be such an emotional and intense day. I cannot say enough good things about Fotogenic. I contacted him last year as Scotland was a stop on our honeymoon, and I wanted photos taken there. It was raining, kinda sleeting- yet he still made the photos look magical! He also brought things I did not think of, such as sensible shoes, since it was so muddy and rainy. Michael and Alecija at Fotogenic of Scotland came highly recommended and they didn't disappoint. They couldn't have been more thoughtful and imaginative! We had decided to purchase a compilation of the photographs into a picture book of our special day. On the way up to our location Michael began taking photos of the scenery to help tell our story. His use of the natural lighting was simply amazing. Before the ceremony Michael communicated what he wanted to capture and made it easy for us to follow his direction. During the ceremony he managed to capture the magic of our special day. After the ceremony my husband and I wandered the property while Michael worked more magic. He was able to capture the chemistry between my husband and a little of our goofy personalities. Myself and my wife got married at the lodge on Loch goil in October last year and we were lucky enough to be photographed by Michael. He was highly recommended to us and after seeing his work we didn’t think twice and we were certain we wanted to use him. So much so that we didn’t even bother looking anywhere else. We were so glad we didn’t look anywhere else his work is outstanding, beautiful and very natural (no gimmicks which we wanted to avoid).From our very first contact with Michael, he was exceptionally friendly, professional and put us both at ease straight away and nothing was ever a bother for him, he was always happy to help and listen to our ideas.Myself and my wife hate having our photos taken, however on the day Michael made it enjoyable, it was very relaxed, he made it all easy, he was simply amazing.When we received our photos they were stunning, and looking at them took us back to our beautiful day and how happy everyone was. I recommend Fotogenic very highly! My wife and I (from Dallas, Texas) hired them to do our honeymoon photos, and the photos turned out sooooooo good. Michael is a really funny and awesome guy. Michael was great! I liked his style from the very start, and we got amazing pictures we are so happy with. He even travelled to France for our destination wedding! He had very nice ideas, and went to visit the venue beforehand to see the best spots. On top of being very professional, approachable and discreet, he did a great job of "managing" our guests (most of them not speaking English) for the group shots and keeping us in timing, which was very much appreciated. He also took time to ask us what was important for us so he can take pictures of it, and asked to know a little more about about the wedding party and close family, because he cares! Michael and Alicja are fantastic. Michael took our photos on our wedding day and was outstanding. He was extremely hard-working, stayed later than planned because the day ran late so that he could still capture our first dance, and managed to do many things that seem impossible - judging from the photos seemingly being in more than one place at the same time, taking photos without us noticing he was there, knowing who all the most important guests were, dealing well with complicated family situations, being discreet but at the same time bossy enough (in a good way! ) to organise people into groups when required, and capturing a photo of my grumpy older brother with a smile on his face, possibly the first time this has ever happened. He even helped out during an incident where I got blood all over my dress during the morning preparations, instantly whipping out a plaster out of nowhere!

The photos he took are beautiful; I normally hate photos of myself but in Michael's photos I actually think I don't look too bad (hopefully he didn't photoshop them too much!). The photos have a natural and light look about them, exactly as we were hoping for, and we thought they looked fantastic even before final retouching. There were also a few "different" shots, such as a reflection of my veil in the wedding car, which we loved.

It can't be easy to have all the technical and artistic skills required to be a great photographer and the people skills required to be a great wedding photographer, but Michael and Alicja definitely have everything. More...

Michael photographed our wedding at Cottiers, Glasgow in June 2016. He made all of our wedding party feel very comfortable in front of the camera - no mean feat when both of our mums hate getting their photos taken. His photos were natural and really captured the day. We were so delighted with his pictures that we asked him to capture the arrival of our newborn baby with some family pictures at our house in March 2018. Again he did not disappoint with stunning unposed photos of our daughter Orlaith and other members of our family. We have been absolutely thrilled with the service we have received from both Michael and Alicja from the moment we booked. Alicja captured every moment of our special day, listened to every request and understood exactly what we wanted. Each shot was natural and of an exceptionally high quality; we don't like pictures of ourselves but ended up loving every shot. Michael was absolutely fantastic. I don't enjoy getting my photograph taken so the thought of having someone there all day did make me feel anxious. Well there was no need as by the end of the evening I was sad to say goodbye to Michael. He was strict and sensitive with both families keeping us in mind at all times. He managed to capture wonderful pictures of the children all under 4 years old, and the wedding party looked ever so glamorous.
