Q&As

I love the journey. Meeting new people and hearing of their difficulties, developing a rapport with them and acting as a support, and ultimately seeing them flourish. Don't get me wrong there can be a lot of ups and down's as past experiences are processed and new mechanisms for coping are adopted, although I'm committed to my clients and enjoy helping them through that hardship. There's nothing better than seeing someone 'find themselves' and live their life the way that they want to.

Flexibility. Knowing that I could provide a service that worked around people's every day busy schedules.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor who works with people struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. I have experience both within the community and in institutions. I feel no problem is too big or too small to talk about, and I allow my clients to be heard. I recognise the difficulty that comes with sharing deeply personal experiences and I pride myself in being a genuine and compassionate person who offers empathy, consistency and respect to my clients. I do not hold an agenda and I'm not here to tell you right from wrong, I'm here to help you grow and understand more about yourself, so you move forward and make decisions that feel right for you.

Yes. I am currently working remotely via Zoom (an encrypted and password protected teleconferencing software).

Services

I am a registered Counsellor (MBACP) who has been working within private practice for 5 years.

I practice as a relational integrative psychotherapist, meaning I invest heavily into building a trusting relationship with my clients, whilst drawing upon influences from several therapeutic modalities which help to inform my work. These include, person-centred, psychodynamic, somatic experiencing (bodily experiencing) and CBT theories.

I adjust my approach to meet the needs of each client I work with, tailoring the support I provide to each individual whilst offering compassion, empathy, and acceptance.

I currently support University students to understand more about their mental health and ways in which they can progress towards their wellbeing goals.

I support individuals to learn more about their own mental health, recognising when they may be at risk of self-harm or suicidality, understanding their emotions, being able to self-regulate and implementing healthy coping mechanisms to manage day-to-day stress, anxiety and low-mood.
