Services

Single Wills or Mutual Wills are the bedrock of estate planning. This legal document lets your family know how you would like your estate distributed when you are gone.

These legal documents, once registered, allow you to appoint a person(s) of trust to look after your finances and healthcare if you are unable to due to illness, accident or loss of mental capacity.

Trusts are an effective way of protecting your assets for the next generation. Any asset held in trust avoids the need for probate and can protect assets from divorce, bankruptcy and help reduce or even mitigate inheritance tax on your estate.
Trusts can be included in your Will or set up during your lifetime.

Inheritance tax mainly affects estates when their value exceeds £650,000 for a married couple (or £1m when a primary residence is involved).
Assets passed to the next generation in excess of these bands is taxed at 40%.
Prior planning can help reduce or even mitigate this tax, so its always best to act early and take advice.
