I recently used Footworks and this is my experience. I have had pain in my big toes on and off for awhile now due to ingrowing toenails, and wanted to get this sorted. One of my friends is currently on the NHS waiting list for this and she has been waiting 4 months and another has been waiting 9 months so this is what made me what to go private rather than being on a list. From my first phone call to when I was actually seen for the procedure was only a week! The receptionists were all very professional, courteous and welcoming over the phone and I also explained my issue via email and I had a response from Ruth Giffney. Ruth Giffney was my podiatrist at Footworks and when I arrived for the appointment/surgery she took the effort to explain things very clearly to me and to put my mind at ease before she did anything. She was incredibly knowledgeable on the subject and took the time to answer my questions, and explain what will happen during and after the surgery. During the procedure she took the time to ask me about my interests too to help put me at ease during the procedure. During this process it was all handled smoothly and went like a well oiled machine! She then explained what I will need to do to make the surgery a success and to continually care for my toes moving forward. I left feeling well informed as to what would be happening over the next few weeks. I was then booked in for a redressing the next day to make sure that it was all in order and to give me some dressing supplies. I had a final follow up a week later with Ruth and things have progressed very well and I am very pleased with the result. I found the staff were excellent at Footworks but I do have to single out Ruth and say she was exceptional! To anyone thinking about doing this or something similar, I highly recommend Ruth and the team at Footworks. I have already recommended them to my friends. Thank you Ruth and Footworks! More...

I went for a gait analysis. The analysis is thorough and this is the main thing i was hoping for. These issues are complicated to understand. Prior to footworks i had not received a satisfactory diagnosis elsewhere so it was welcome to receive a detailed analysis from footworks. Footworks report was technical in nature and being picky i would have preferred having things explained additionally at a laypersons level of understanding. A follow up call or offer to come back into the clinic to discuss would also have been welcome for someone like me that wants to understand the underlying problem, as well as the solution. However exercises to rectify the problem have been provided and a technical report sent to my physiotherapist who understands it ... I am hopeful this time we have finally got the bottom of issue and it will be corrected. More...

I really appreciated the voicemail and email to check up on how I was after the procedure. I feel well cared for. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and all the staff seem to remember their clients and are friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. I hate people touching my feet and had a lot of anxieties about it thus not getting my toe nail checked out for many years. But Ruth made me feel really comfortable and calm. She managed to sort out my toe nail delicately without me even feeling like anyone was touching my feet! Thank you so much Ruth! Really friendly staff- both the receptionist and the podiatrist. Had an appointment regarding plantar fasciitis. Consultant was very informative during the session and told me she would design a programme of exercises for me to do post appointment. 5 days later and I still haven’t received this. So I email her to inquire.She replies that apparently this task had “slipped under the radar”.She then sent me an email with thirteen pdfs attached, each with upto three different exercises in them. There was no instructions as to how many exercises I should do a day, as the whole programme would take around 1.5-2 hours.I emailed the consultant back to ask for clarity on how to use the information she sent me.She then sent me an excel document with a chart which indicated which days I should do which exercises, totally arbitrarily.The aftercare at this centre I have found to be shocking. Highly unprofessional and instilled no confidence in me. Will not be returning and would not recommend. More...

Ruth carried out a operation to correct ingrowing toenails on both feet for my 10 year old son. She was fantastic before, during and after the operation, keeping my son fully aware of what would be done and talking to him all the way through. I visited Naomi because I’ve had terrible back pain for years and I’ve spent a fortune with chiropractors. She assessed my walking and looked at my foot pressure then made a cast of my feet for insoles.
They work, My back pain is so much better!!
