About

I have always been helping people as far back as I can remember, I started footprints in 2010, the is myself and I have a female colleague that works with clients that prefer to women to work with, I work interactively, which means I try to meet each clients needs using cognitive behavioral therapy, which can be useful for depression and anxiety, person centred, which works around peples dignity, compassion, and respect, offering personalised care support or treatment.

Yinka is a great listener, non judgemental and enables me to consider all aspects of a situation to get the best outcome. Integrative counselling draws on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you.

An integrative counsellor believes there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Instead they take into account you are an individual and your circumstances are unique to you and you alone. I use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.
Every client who walks through the door is treated as an individual,W
what works for one person might not work for another. As an integrative therapist, I can choose the right approach for you. I generally use a bit of everything to get started then as we build an understanding and a bond of mutual trust, I use the theories that best suites your concerns.
What does an integrative counsellor do?

The integrative approach may include elements of person-centred therapy. This focuses on you rather than the counsellor being the expert on yourself, and aims to help you reach your full potential. Your therapist will help you achieve that. by accepting and valuing you being honest and transparent with you and offering you unconditional positive regard.

Your therapist may draw on psychodynamic therapy. This involves helping you to bring your subconscious which is just below the surface to your awareness into your consciousness . It helps you become more aware of what’s in your subconscious, such as difficult memories and experiences, so you can understand how these deep-rooted feelings impact on you in the present and how you can learn to cope with them. I also have cognitive behaviour therapy that is rooted in our consciousness mind, this can be a way of working on your thought patterns on such issues as depression or anxiety, lack of self worth.
