What do you love most about your job?
I love helping people to move on in their lives and not being stuck with any kind of psychological, emotional, and mental health block. The satisfaction of seeing somebody getting better and being able to overcome their challenge(s) is my greatest reward.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I always wanted to be a therapist who can offer his services to a wider audience. I guess with the advances of technology, this is now more feasible than before. I am very keen to provide services online through an audiovisual medium and now is the right time for me to do it.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am passionate about helping people and I have a knack for enthusing my passion to others. Clients have always told me that they can connect to me easily and they felt that I understood them and their issues in a short period of time or straightaway. I give 100-200% of my skills, knowledge, and abilities to my clients and it makes a difference.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Absolutely. Technology is there to be used. I would ask clients to book their session(s) online on my website and we can connect with Zoom with or without video. Another way of being in contact is through What’s app.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I only see my clients online so this does not apply to me.
Dealing with Depression
Depression is an emotional disorder often involving an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness and inadequacy. This is merely the tip of the iceberg.
Depending on the type of depression you are suffering from I would be looking at a mix of physical, psychological, social, diversional, recreational interventions and signposting you to relevant organisations as part of a holistic treatment plan.
Dealing with Anxiety
Anxiety is a normal reaction and a necessary part of being alive. When our well-being is being threatened in a hostile environment it helps us to survive. It also induces the fight or flight responses. However, an anxiety state is a prolonged, continued apprehension and exaggerated emotional state causing panic, restlessness, and fear. I would be looking at a mix of physical, psychological, occupational, social, educational readjustment and signposting to relevant organisations as part of a holistic treatment plan.
Bipolar Disorder ( Manic - Depression)
Manic depression is characterised by mood swings alternating between periods of excitement and an overwhelming feeling of sadness, gloom, and doom. I would be looking at a mix of physical, psychological, occupational, social, divesional and signposting to relevant organisations as part of a holistic treatment plan. This could also involve recommending hospital admission if the symptoms were too severe and were not improving and the risks to the person's safety were too high.
Alcohol Addiction
Alcohol addiction is a dependency disorder that results in mental disturbance, physical health issues, and withdrawal leads to a characteristic pattern or syndrome. I would be looking at detoxification, psychotherapeutic measures, abstention, chemotherapy, diversional, social interventions and signposting to relevant organisations in the community.
