Saved my arse during deadline week after my MacBook's hard drive self destructed.During last 2 weeks at university my MacBook Pro decided to shut down, greeting me with a black screen indicating that my internal hard drive had been lost, along with all data. Went to the Falmouth Uni IT Support, who refused to even look at it or offer me a modicum of advice. Referred me to a "Licensed Apple Retailer" in Newquay, who said my MacBook's internal hard drive was irreparable, and all files would be impossible to recover. My "best case scenario" was to purchase a new hard drive from them for £450.I was skeptical so decided to call Andy from Falmouth Computers and within 24 hours he had recovered ALL files from my MacBook's "irreparable" hard drive, and managed to restore it to complete working order. All for an incredibly fair price - and that's coming from a student. Nothing near the extortionate amount quoted by the official Apple guys.Was able to complete the rest of my uni work without a hitch over the next week, and I owe it all to Andy. 2 weeks later the laptop is still working good as new.Lovely guy, great service. Thank you so much Falmouth Computers! My laptop was in such a mess. It's a Windows 7 and is a 9 year old laptop. The keyboard had a button missing my mouse button had completly come off, I'd have to save it somewhere so it didn't get lost. The fan was filled with so much dust it would heat up to a degree it could compete with the temperature of the earths core! But now after just two days AND on the weekend AND short notice it's ALL fixed. New keyboard and mouse button back in place and at such an AMAZING price!! I don't have to wear headphones anymore so I can hear videos over the fan and basically I cannot thank you enough!! I can now run my current photoshop and not have to worry about having to purchase a new laptop and then a monthly Photoshop fee on top. If you're worried about having to upgrade and and then having to invest that monthly Photoshop fee because your laptop is breathing it's last, I'd say go to this guy first!! Its well worth it! I sent an email to Andy regarding my 2010 MacBook pro. i previously took it to a shop in the local area who tried scamming me and requested full strip down and rebuild with all new parts after paying a £70 diagnostics fee and they still couldn't find what was wrong i decided to take it to Falmouth computers after googling local computer shop reviews i decided to take my mac to Andy after hearing about what happened He was shocked to see a simple new charger is all it needed. Andy kindly recharged my MacBook and refused the much cheaper £25 diagnostic fee. I recently had my desktop repaired as a cooling fan had been damaged. I was a little worried to begin with as I'm a student and my computer is quite important to me; but Andy seemed like a genuine guy and he sorted out the issue in just a couple of days. Andy gave me a free quote to begin with and it seemed like a very fair price. The cooling system hadn't just been repaired, but Andy had also optimised the flow of air within the computer tower and I believe the quality of the fan now is much better than previously.
