The ongoing nightmare of Precision Garage Doors (Pittsburgh PA): Over the last week we have had issues with our garage door sliding up and down without a ton of force on our part. We had two local estimates, both quoting us around $200 for replacing parts to allow it to manually open (no electrical replacements) however the most recent one was not able to get us a time slot for replacements until early next week. Since I had called around, precision offered a very flexible schedule, so we called them in hopes of resolving this issue quicker. The technician responded within his time frame and was nothing but friendly and professional. He gave us a verbal estimate (stating his laptop was malfunctioning) of $130-$150 to fix parts which he even went as far as to point out and in a very reasonable time period (2 hours tops). We were absolutely ecstatic. After verbally agreeing to this, my husband and I went to run an errand leaving my mother to pay with our debit card.... flash forward 2 hours later, we arrive home and ask my mother what the final total was which she then says he emailed to us since his laptop was still malfunctioning. The total he ended up charging us was $1,030... I wanted to puke. After contacting the manager, multiple times, he has insisted this employee, Randy Swann, is one of their best and insinuated that I was lying on multiple occasions while discussing the matter. He then offered a partial refund (which he couldn’t get to me until next week) or for them to come early Sunday morning and remove the work they had done- but he stated our garage door would be on our driveway if this was the case (I assume this is because they took our original parts which were keeping the door in place)..It’s hard to think that at one point today I would have recommended this company to anyone who asked... please be careful when dealing with these people. I am sick that I was as naive as we were when allowing them to work and charge us. Update to today (Sunday): precision returned and did in fact leave our garage door in pieces, with parts cut in half and unsalvageable. This is far from the condition it was in prior to their arrival on Friday. I did receive, or told I will be receiving a refund, whether I will receive that is still questionable.. *PLEASE SHARE my experience in hopes of nobody else being fooled by this snake of a company. Verizon responded to my complaint right away which was a plus. and very much appreciated. but I'm so over Verizon at this point, so I ignored their calls, and do not know what the outcome may have been. However, Verizon submitted a response to the complaint to BBB and their response was filled with lies in regards to the amount refunded, and the app being downloaded which was not. their app is already predownloaded onto my phone. and my new line, it was never downloaded on. I would like to submit screenshots of recently downloaded apps and my statement showing what Verizon actually refunded. BBB please respond to how I can show proof of their lies. I had a company named Yeezy Supply cheat me for a pair of shoes which they took 4 months to deliver and still nothing. They were never going to deliver it because stock was over and they had over sold it. Anyhow after 4 months of mailing them to no avail, I contacted BBB and only 2 weeks with BBB, they followed up on my order and finally pressured Yeezy Supply to issue me a refund. Without BBB, I doubt I’ll ever get a solution or any form of refund or anything. They would have just held out till I gave up by sending me generic replies about how busy they were and to hold on. This experience has been incredible. My first teary, panicked phone call was so worth everything that happened after that. I didn’t honestly believe John when he said not to worry. We hear bad things about roofing companies all the time. This isn’t like those at allllll!!! They dealt with my insurance company. They met with my adjuster. They set everything up and were so professional. Their workers took one thirty minute lunch and worked from 620am until after 7pm doing a house, a flat roof and a detached garage. The color of my roof looks like a beautiful sunny day. The blue hue is stunning. My insurance company even remarked at how professional they were and how their supplemental paperwork was minimal and they didn’t try to pull a fast one after the fact. Someone needs to address this matter. This type of service cannot be tolerated. If you are planning a party at The Playhouse, please save your money! It's not worth it. My baby had a birthday party in December, and it was a waste of money. Almost 600.00 for NOTHING! I've been calling for the owners or corporate to contact me and they continuously lied as if someone would call me back. I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company and they made up this long drawn out story full of lies. It's unbelievable that a company would just make up a lie! If I had the time to put in it I would definitely get my money back but what is 600.00 when they lost 25 possible customers. There were 25+ kids there so just imagine the kind of business they lost by providing such horrible service. They promised a party host but the host did not HOST! They did not have my food ready when my Guest and I arrived. We had to wait, mind you, you only get 1.5 hours in the party room. When they finally brought the food out, it was pizza for the adults. They claim they thought I ordered pizza with my party package but I was suppose to get hot dogs with my package, and paid an additional 120.00 for pizza. The kids food wasnt ready until almost the end of the party. We were rushed out of the party room. The only thing I was offered was a free pizza and 43.00 off my order. That's an insult! They lied to the card company like I was basically an unruly customer. LIES! My guests couldn't even believe I was so calm about the situation. Never again! My rant is over but just thought I'd save you guys a couple of dollars. IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! More...
