How long have you been in business?
Extra Help LTD has been in business since 2010. In 2023 I purchased Extra Help St Albans.
Do you bring your own equipment and supplies?
We use clients cleaning products to ensure nothing in the home causes you reactions or allergens and is safe for your furniture and home. We do bring some of our own gardening equipment for use outdoors. We also provide our own gloves and aprons.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping both the client and also the families of those who may need a bit of Extra Help. We cover St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield ( anyone in AL postcode)
We will help anyone but specialise in supporting the elderly and vulnerable. Some of our helpers are also qualified and experienced carers. Clients love our visits and we can be trusted to go the extra mile. I love the dedication our helpers have to our clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A desire to help others in a positive way. A hope that I can help the elderly or vulnerable stay in their homes as long as possible.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are trustworthy, kind, compassionate and caring. We will go the Extra Mile for you or your relative. All helpers are DBS and twice reference checked.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
We are a home help service provider but we can also provide telephone companionship. A set day and time daily or weekly to put in a friendly phone call to someone living on their own. We can arrange to meet the client 1st so they know who is calling. Please note this service is not covered by anyone else during periods of annual leave. You will always have the same caller for safety and security of the client.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We provide our own gloves and aprons. Helpers are in possession of masks and will wear a mask if this is the home owners wish. We will abide by any Government changes and guidance issued and Extra Help Ltd national policy.

Help de- cluttering / tidying / trip to charity shop or recycling centre can be included to help you
Minimum of 2 hour weekly bookings only for cleaning services - set days with holiday cover provided

General tidy up service available
Removal of grass cuttings / weeds
One off bookings - minimum 2 hours upwards only
Laundry / Ironing Service
Need help changing beds and with laundry and ironing then Extra Help St Albans can help you.

Shopping and kitchen organising
Extra Help St Albans can help with your grocery shopping. We can escort you to the shops or pick it up for you. We can pack away and make sure the use by dates are organised, we will make sure your fridge is clean and old food discarded. We can help make sure you keep well by eating fresh food regularly. If you are fed up of microwaved meals we can prepare home cooked food at your home- tell us what you like and we can make it happen.
