Highly recommend the hot chocolate box, we bought the box for 2 and shared with our toddler as a birthday treat. There was a great selection of chocolate goodies, more than enough for even the sweetest tooth to be satisfied. We’ve ordered another box for Christmas Eve and can’t wait! Stayed overnight at this wonderful little gem of a place. Staff were extremely friendly and nothing was a bother for them. I also had a dog with me and again that caused no issues. Room was spacious, warm and welcoming and an added treat for the dog on a arrival (such a fabulous touch) Bathroom was immaculately clean with lovely fluffy towels too! Lovely place, nice atmosphere, staff friendly and polite. We had a really nice meal, steak cooked exactly as requested, lamb pie full of meat, lasagne was spot on. Nice deserts. Love this place - first time I went was just a few days after they first opened and my sister and I ended up being the only people left towards the end of the evening and Andy let us choose what music we wanted to listen to - naturally we chose The Greatest Showman soundtrack A few weeks later I was going on a first date and we met here ❤ Been back fairly frequently since (usually for breakfast on a Saturday morning with my sister) and always get a warm and friendly welcome, great food and nice atmosphere. and also asked about how my date had gone! haha Today me and my partner came to The Chalkboard together for the first time since our first date - Andy spotted us almost immediately and asked if we had an anniversary coming up as he remembered seeing us on our first date. I explained it was a year last weekend but we hadn't been able to do anything as i had been feeling poorly, and we were given free cake with our brunch! We visited on Bank holiday Monday and absolutely loved our whole experience. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait long to be shown to our table and for our food and drinks to arrive. I stayed here for two nights with my partner and dog. We were in room 5 which was spacious and very clean. The hotel has good facilities and good WiFi. The location is great; just off Long Sutton high street. We ate at the restaurant 3 times and every meal was perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection as was the roast beef from the Sunday carvery. The proprietors, Tom and Kerry, were very welcoming and the bar staff were very attentive. We'll definitely be staying here again! More...

Went there this evening with my little family and I ordered a burger and my hubby ordered a lasagna, they booked looked lovely when they come out, When I opened my burger there was burger sauce/mayo in my burger my husband took it up to the bar and explained I can’t have mayo and they young girl said we will get you a fresh one, when my burger come out you could see they had changed then bun to the burger and cleaned the burger off, witch I then asked the lady if this had happend and she said it’s fresh, you could see it wasn’t I then explained once agian I can’t have mayo and I need it to be all fresh she finally took the burger away, In this time the rest of my party was eating there meal, the lady did come over and offered me a drink thou! Then when my burger come out the 3 time I had around 10 chips witch were they just re fryed them and they tasted of just fat, my burger witch then had no salad in it. Feel apart and my bacon was a lump of fat in my meal, this wasn’t enjoyable and I ended up eating alone, I said to the young lady as she come over it wasn’t very time and I don’t think she knew what to say, I just wanted to get out, so we payed the full bill! I’m really sad about his because we was just trying to support a local business! Yeah More...

It's what I've been looking for in Peterborough for afternoon tea since my previously frequented place closed.
