Erica and her team are friendly, hardworking and really talented. Through the design process, Erica was supportive and open to any ideas. She presented different material options and sourced the exact finishings to complete the dress. The dress was altered to fit me perfectly and I could make decisions on details such as the length of sleeves, lace positioning etc. throughout the fitting process. I met with Erica with my mum and brothers (bridesmaids) and she explained everything really clearly, and essentially said she would be able to create the dress of my dreams for me. Throughout the process she was excitable, kind, warm and the communication was excellent. She has amazing ideas and came up with things I hadn't even thought of that I loved. The dress was absolutely stunning and my husband was blown away. I am still getting comments from people over a month later about how stunning I looked in my dress. The train, veil and cape she made me were all beautiful too. She was always so flexible with fittings as I often work late but she stayed late for me on more than one occasion. It’s taken me a while to be able to write this due to the upset caused but unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience. Pros - Erica was a super friendly woman Cons - unfortunately I only saw the first draft of my dress 4 weeks before my wedding which caused a lot of stress and sleepless nights . I was told that this was not normal. Due to the time management, I didn’t get a full mock up of the dress and instead had a mock up of the top but the bottom was made straight away. I feel that this contributed to the fitting issues with my final dress. Due to the time management I felt that my dress was really poorly fitted - it was far too big but as I was lead to believe there wasn’t enough time to sort it (through no fault of my own)I took the dress home. The poor fit of the top half was mentioned by Erica but her seamstress said there was no time to fix it as they were on leave. I appreciate that it was felt that I had lost weight in the 5 months since I was first measured but that’s what alterations are for and this dress was supposed to be bespoke and made to fit me. Despite the poor fit, I was going to wear the dress as the time constraints meant I had few other options. However, when doing a dress rehearsal of my outfit, the zip on the dress broke (this was two days before the wedding). Erica did offer to fix it but it would have meant hours of travelling for myself the day before the wedding and on the morning of the wedding. I really feel that I didn’t have the proper bridal experience. Not only did I have to wear something else for my wedding (and the stress of sorting that out) but I had weeks of stress leading up to and the day of my wedding. I even cried on the morning of because I didn’t have a dress I was happy with. Because of all the stress and the last minute nature of it all, I felt overwhelmed during my appointments (which as they were offered or arranged the day before, meant I couldn’t invite anyone along with me for any of them) and was so relieved when I finally had a dress, I didn’t feel like I had time to take it all in and spot the problems with the dress but as professionals, I would have expected the fitting issues to be identified by them. Edit - Erica offered to meet us half way. Not to come to us. This still would have been hours of driving for us the day before my wedding, caused the cancellation of other wedding events and at a time when I should be relaxing - not having to get a dress fixed that was worn for 10 minutes to try on More...

I cannot put into words how absolutely amazing Erica was throughout the entire process of designing and making my dress. My dress was perfect; better than I imagined and was so unique. The quality was amazing and Erica gave me so many options to make sure I got exactly what I wanted for my dress. Our wedding was postponed for a year due to the pandemic, and Erica was so helpful throughout. We had lots of appointments throughout to make sure that everything was going smoothly, to make any amendments and to look at the fabric options again. Erica was extremely professional and genuinely just a lovely person. She's able to sketch your ideas and bring them to life perfectly. Perfect Dress Erica couldn't of been any better. Not only did we design and create my dream dress, but we did all of it in 5 months, due to the pandemic. We are absolutely devastated that Kayleigh was so unhappy with her experience at Erica Stacey Bridalwear. Kayleigh’s outfit consisted of two skirts, a separate bodice and self fabric covered belt. Skirts of this style would never be toiled because they are altered to fit throughout the process of having them made and need to be made in the final fabric to check the drape of the fabric is correct. The bodice was toiled twice. The first toile was made to the original body measurements and the second was altered to fit Kayleigh at the time of her appointment. Her waist circumference had reduced by 8cm from her original measurements and so the skirts were then altered to fit. The belt required 3 extra eyelets to reduce to fit the new waist circumference. At every stage Kayleigh was asked if she was happy and at no point did she tell us that she wanted to bring a friend or family member to her fittings. We would have happily arranged appointments out of standard business hours if she had asked us. We have photos of a very happy bride to be at Kayleigh’s final fitting which was nine days before her wedding. As with all of our brides, she was given full length appointments and asked repeatedly if there was anything she was unhappy about. The only changes she asked us to make were to reduce the sleeve puff volume, lower and reshape the front neckline and shorten the circular skirt to above her knee. It is not normal to have a first fitting four weeks prior to a wedding, but unfortunately the pandemic has affected time scales within our business. When staff have returned from self isolation, they have all worked extra hours, longer days and weekends to compensate for their absence. As soon as we read the terribly sad email from Kayleigh’s mother informing us of the broken zip, we immediately asked her to bring the skirt back into the studio. We were then informed that she was in Leamington Spa. Erica offered to drive to collect the skirt, fix it on Sunday and personally deliver it back Kayleigh in Derbyshire ready for her wedding the following day. Our offer to help was refused. We have been creating beautiful bespoke bridal wear since 2010 and have a wealth of knowledge between our talented team. We ask repeatedly at every fitting if a bride is satisfied. Unfortunately if a bride signs to say she is happy when in fact they are not, we have no way of knowing if that is not the case.

If you are looking for your wedding dress I highly recommend Erica Stacey. Erica is so talented and just so lovely to work with. She took the time to get to know me, understand my ideas and designed the perfect dress. My wedding was due to take place on Saturday but has sadly been postponed. Having Erica to design and make my wedding dress was a breath of fresh air! From the wedding dress shopping I had briefly done, I had a bad experience because of the samples in shops not catering for the fuller figure. Before I met Erica I spent ages flicking through bridal magazines and walking aimlessly around bridal shops liking some bits of a lot of different dresses. Erica is nothing short of a genius. Several months before my wedding she had made an exquisite sapphire blue mermaid evening gown with long lace sleeves and crystal buttons for my mum. From there I saw the incredible workmanship that goes into creating her bespoke dresses and I knew it had to be Erica who made my wedding dress. I gathered some inspiration from various Instagram/ Pinterest posts and other sources and took them along to our first appointment. I don’t know how she does it (like I said - she is a genius) - but Erica managed to take all the elements from each idea that I liked and combine them into one dream design, which she sketched out there and then. The following steps were easy- I left to all in the hands of her and her wonderful team and over the following months they made the dream dress come to life. Erica is incredibly talented, and her passion for dress- making is so evident, as soon as I met her I could see how much love and dedication goes into every one of her creations. I was looking for a short cape to go over my satin strapless wedding dress, and a google search led me to Erica Stacey! Erica was by far the most reasonable quote I received and also the most friendly and helpful response. I met with Erica and showed her one Pinterest picture and explained what I wanted, she sketched it up, pulled out some sample fabrics and I was sold! Erica immediately understood my vision, especially when I was able to show her images of these dresses which I’d tried and explained the issues I’d had with them. She sketched out what we discussed and showed me the fabrics which she thought would work.The finished result in the end, along with the matching veil, was not only beautiful and perfect but also undeniably a better fit and quality than I could have got from a bridal boutique. I have a tall, slim build so having a dress made to measure meant the waist and hem weren’t sitting too high or too short. Erica also put extra layers into the dress which meant that the flow of the material was a lot more natural and the dress skimmed over my curves rather than hanging onto them. My guests all commented how stunning and unique my dress was and I felt very proud to have had a hand in its design. I would highly recommend taking this route over buying a wedding dress from a shop, and I found it was not more expensive than ordering a dress and paying extra for alterations. Thanks Erica! Eric designed and made the dress for my daughter Chelsie, who was taking part in the Miss Teen GB Pageant.
The dress was truly stunning and received lots of praise and fantastic comments from other participants in the Pageant, including parents and sponsors.
I believe that the dress played a great part in the eventual outcome of the event.

I was sad to say goodbye to Erica when she delivered my beautiful wedding dress. Not only was she determined to make me happy, she got to know me as a person and concentrated on my needs. Erica is amazing. I fell in love with a dress but literally *NO* alterations ladies I visited could make it fit as it was awkward as hell (I have very small boobs, but hey, they're nifty) Anyway. .. Erica and her team redesigned it, chopped the top bit and put it back together and made it a million times better than I could have imagined. Within a week as well!
