About

I am an outstanding teacher with many years’ experience of teaching and leading in Primary schools. I have successfully taught both individuals, small groups and whole year groups of primary aged pupils, including those preparing for SATs and the 11+. Since becoming a teacher I have successfully taught the English National Curriculum to pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6. I ensure that learning is both fun and challenging using a range of strategies and resources, with a focus on pupils applying the skills they have learnt in different contexts.

Through effective assessment and high expectations, I can identify learning needs and potential in every pupil, ensuring that every lesson is personalised for the learner. My approach is friendly, calm and kind with a track record of forming positive relationships with those I teach, resulting in motivated and successful pupils.

During my teaching career, I have also held various leadership positions, from KS1 and KS2 leader to senior leadership and SENCO. Through my leadership roles I have impacted on several whole school priorities related to teaching and learning and curriculum design, resulting in improved teaching quality and pupil outcomes.

As a lifelong learner, always looking for fresh and innovative approaches to teaching, I endeavour to instill a love of learning in the children that I teach by ensuring they develop the confidence and skills to take on challenges that will enable them to achieve their full potential.

I can assess your child for their suitability for the 11+, I assess their maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning converting their raw score into a standardised one like the 11+.

If the 11 plus route is not for your child, I am also able to provide tuition to consolidate the national curriculum and close gaps in knowledge, working at a suitable pace for your child.

I am an approachable, flexible tutor, happy to adapt my teaching methods and styles to suit your child's preferred learning methods. I think students learn best when they are enjoying the subject. I really enjoy teaching children and will provide the best possible education for them. I am extremely keen to explore creativity within the curriculum and am committed to high expectation and achievement whilst looking to make learning more accessible and fun. I think students learn best when they are enjoying the subject.
