Having followed Elixir Interior Design on Facebook for a while, we were very excited to see them launch an e-design service as we were planning to re-decorate our master bedroom.
From the very first contact with Melanie, she was friendly yet professional, listened to all our ideas and gave advice on what would and wouldn't work and why, explained everything clearly and was beyond helpful. We now have a beautiful room design and plan which is currently underway, and are so excited about the end result. Melanie managed to combine both mine and my partners polar opposite tastes into a beautiful sanctuary for us both to enjoy.
I would highly recommend Elixir Interior Design, whether its an in-person consultation or their e-design service, the service and experience was quite simply exceptional!

What’s your interior design process?
I always begin local design projects with a paid design interior design consultation at your home (redeemable against my design fee should we continue to work together).
In this meeting we can discuss a whole range of things relating to your project including the scope, the fuction of the space and your preferred styles.
I’ll provide lots of ideas and inspiration. You may find this is enough for you to contine on your own, which is absolutely fine. If you need more help I’ll prepare a fee proposal for your consideration.
The first stage of the design process is the concept design, where we work together to pinpoint the look and feel you want to achieve. I’ll present this to you with 2D floorplans / furniture layouts and 3D illustrations showcasing potentual colour schemes and styles.
The next stage is the design detail where I bring your design to life with 3D representations. I will also produce any electric/lighting plans and joinery specifications relevent to your design.
Once you are happy with your design I can also work alongside your contractor to help implement your scheme.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I have an indepth understanding of many different interior design genres and can generally adapt to any prefered style.
My favourite is to combine minimalist contemporary interiors with a traditional setting for a striking contrast.
I also have a huge appreciatuon for mid-century design which is as fuctional as it is stylish!
What do you love most about your job?
Working with clients to help them acheive their dream space. This brings me so much joy!
What inspired you to start your own business?
A passion for design and interiors!
I returned to college after many years in the corporate world to pursue my dream career. That was 12 years ago and I’ve never looked back!
Why should our clients choose you?
Firstly I listen. I understand my clients are entrusting me to create their dream home and that is not a responsibility to be taken lightly.
Communication is key and I always encourage my clients to let me know what they like (or don’t like), so togther we can create the perfect home for them.
I’m also a great believer in function over asthetics. If your home isn’t a practical space for you & your family, it will never feel comfortable.
I strongly believe a home should be fuctional as well as beautiful!

Interior Design Consultation
We start every local interior design project with a home interior design consultation.
During this meeting we’ll take a look at your home and talk through the detail of your project including functionality, aesthetic, budget etc.
Some people find this is sufficient for what they need and are happy to move forward on their own. Others have additional work they need help with.
This 90 min (or so) meeting is £175 and redeemable against my full design fee should we continue to work together.
Full Design Service (local)
On approval of our fee, we'll undertake a site survey (measurements), and generally get to know your property and project a lot better.
We'll present our concept for your design showcasing the overall design aesthetic for each room. This presentation will include mood board(s), colour schemes, samples and suggested furniture layouts
We'll then firm up the details of your design, including any lighting/electrical plans and joinery and present our final design alongside rendered layout plans, detailed elevations and 3D visualisations.
Design Implementation (local)
If you require assistance implementing your design, we can help coordinate and administer your project from start to finish.
Working alongside architects and other professionals, we can produce project specifications, schedules and quotations.
We can then oversee your home renovation to ensure all work is executed to specification.
Procurement (local)
Elixir have access to some of the best furniture, accessory, lighting suppliers etc. and can assist with purchasing everything required for your design. We can also collaborate with local craftspeople and manufacturers to manage any bespoke items.
By organising product purchasing and overseeing the delivery process, we save time and reduce potential disruption to the project schedule. We will quality check purchases, deal with any faulty items/arrange necessary replacements. Also, we can organise installations of any furniture items or light fittings etc.
