Q&As

A great website is all about your user experience. How easy is it for your visitors to find the information they need? Is the website functional and enjoyable for the people who are using it?

Depending on your business, your website will be designed around how you want your customer or client to access your product or services, and how often you turn your visitors into sales? Also how much traffic do you wish to attract to your site, and how can you capitalise on that? Finally, does your website look good on laptops, mobiles and tablets?

At Eight we offer a free consultation to establish what your needs are, and based on the principles of User Experience above anything else, we create bespoke websites based on your needs.

Often, Clients understandably wish to know how much a project will cost. However, due to the bespoke nature of the work we do, it is hard to give an exact price before the consultation process is completed. Therefore, it is always useful for us to know what your budget range is up front, so we can keep those parameters in mind when drawing up a proposal.

Our clients may also be interested to hear about what to expect when working with us on a creative project.
For every new project our process is to:
1) Conduct a detailed consultation via the phone or in person to establish needs, budget parameters and deadlines.
2) Provide a proposal for work and a quotation.
3) Establish project milestones and feedback deadlines.
4) Create work.
5) Receive feedback and make amends.
6) Delivery of final work.

A great event photo is all about being ready - the moments are spontaneous so it's important to have your lens cap off at all times and always be seconds away from grabbing that great shot.

A great portrait photo is all about the eyes - a person says more with their eyes than they ever could with their voice. Capturing the eyes is the key to communicating who they are.

A great product photo is about understanding your audience. Who is this product for, and how would they like to feel whilst using it / wearing it?

A client may wish to know how many photos they can expect for the price. This depends on how the photos will be used and for what. Our photography packages come with a day's photo editing as standard, and so the specifics of the number of photos can be established in the consultation process.

Before any work can start we need to understand our client's needs and aspirations - we have to know what our work will be used for and by whom. That way we can make everything we do specifically tailored to our clients.

Working in film, animation and design is exhilarating. For me, seeing an idea from it's inception to a finished piece of work is the most rewarding job in the world.

Here at Eight we don't just provide excellent quality work at competitive rates, we also support the development of emerging creatives and young talent in Bristol. Through our creative apprenticeship scheme, we partner young filmmakers, web designers and artists with our most experienced creatives in our team, meaning our apprentices get paid to develop their skills. This commitment to supporting the diversity of the creative and digital industries, by sponsoring young talent in this way, means that Eight is always learning, always meeting new team members, and is always making a contribution towards something positive in every new project we undertake. If you chose to work with Eight, you too are supporting the career development of a young creative.
