It's hard to put into words how utterly amazing our day was with Edinburgh Black Cab tours was. I've never felt so at ease and so comfortable and entertained. You can tell that so much care and attention goes into each tour and everything runs so smoothly, you can see how much these guys love their job. I was lucky enough to win a competition for the Ultimate Outlander Tour which was amazing in itself but it surpassed by far, every single one of my expectations. My husband any I were picked up from any location in Edinburgh so we started the day right outside our hotel (which was very convenient given the Scottish weather!) Our tour guide, John instantly made us feel welcome and we were surprised to find a gorgeous red hamper with traditional scottish snacks which kept us going all day and was such a thoughtful touch. We were able to see the most iconic sights from Outlander and John knew the scenes just as much as the biggest fan but more than that, his knowlegeldge is Scottish history is vast! I'm going back to England with a whole host of interesting facts and he really brought the sights to life for us and we have memories that will last a lifetime. We never felt rushed or as though we were on a schedule even though the itenerary is so wonderfully planned. We went at a pace that suited us and John was so flexible, he had a neutral way of sussing us out early on and figuring out what kind of experience we would like which meant we had a fun filled yet relaxed day. If I can recommend anything in Scotland, I would fully insist that you go to these guys first. I've never had such a magical experience-especially considering we got the tour for free. I never felt for a second thelat we weren't getting the 5 star service they give to everyone else. We heard that alot of people who books tours with them that they end up feeling like family with the tour guide and I completely agree. Sitting with John in a little Scottish pub for lunch (which had the nicest food!) it felt like we were with an old friend and as someone with social anxiety I don't find too many people that can make me feel at ease so a huge thank you for that.
