A friendly and efficient erection team let down by disorganised management.
Their ability or willingness to communicate with us as customers has been very poor. Firstly, a fine was levied by Dover council because no permit was obtained to have the scaffolding extending into the road. This should have been sorted out in advance by a simple agreement between roofer and scaffolder.
Secondly, we found ourselves in the position where EKS owe us a refund, which they readily acknowledged. Once the job was completed,however, I sent a series of mails, letters, texts and voicemail about the refund and scaffolding removal, but received no meaningful replies until I posted a review 5 weeks later. The letters were sent to both the official correspondence address and the yard address shown on the EKS website. I get the impression that none of these were read, since within 2 days of my review the scaffolding was removed. It is now 7 weeks post- job completion and still no refund, just a series of promises and reasons why it has not happened. We were told on a few occasions that EKS were waiting to be paid for the next few jobs before they would have the cash to pay us. From first contact these guys were professional, managed to install promptly and were great on price. Will definitely use again.
