Q&As

Nutrition really is the foundation of health and wellbeing. Diet and lifestyle choices are the root of many chronic diseases as my time in the NHS has clearly shown me. Nutrition can also be a powerful medical tool for better health and feeling your best. It is certainly not one fits all when it comes to nutrition and a personalised approach is key.

I love helping people. It is what inspired me to become a doctor and nutritionist. To be able to help and support people in difficulty and help them come out feeling better is a privilege.

Having worked in the NHS for a number of years and since having my son I felt it was time to branch out on my own so I could pursue clinical nutritional counselling.

I have an evidence-based approach and I am registered with the AfN and GMC so you can be assured I am credible, which is sometimes hard to find in this industry. I also go above and beyond to help my clients achieve their goals and strive to nurture a healthy relationship with food.

online - all consultations are currently via zoom.

I have changed to online consulting only. I hope to open a clinic space in the Bath area in the future.

Services

For those who simply want some support and help when it comes to eating in a more healthful way and perhaps to lose a bit of weight. You may have had experience of ‘yo yo dieting’ and wanting a less restrictive, sustainable approach. I am able to offer support and guidance using the latest scientific research. Sometimes the support on this journey is the most important part.

All consultations are personalised as there is no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition and wellbeing. Tailoring nutritional advice to you as an individual can help make effective and sustainable changes that really work.

For those who are newly pregnant or planning pregnancy and wanting to optimise health and nutrition to best support you and your growing baby. We know that maternal nutrition can have lasting impacts on your child’s health and so it is worth giving food a thought. I do understand that pregnancy can also bring about some difficult symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and food aversions to name just a few, for which I can offer guidance. I can help and advice around which supplements to take and navigating the foods to avoid in pregnancy. We can also start thinking about preparation for your new arrival and the post-partum period.

For those who are thinking about conceiving and wondering how to optimise their health and fertility through diet and lifestyle in a way that is personal to you and your needs. I can also offer help and advice around supplementation and preparation for pregnancy.

When you become a parent, tiredness is one of the biggest challenges, it certainly has been for me. Tiredness and diet are linked, we know from the evidence that sleep deprivation really impacts on the amount and types of food we eat. Conversely some foods that we choose to eat can also lead to feelings of fatigue. It’s a vicious cycle. While I can’t claim to cure all tiredness I certainly have some tactics that will help give you more stability and energy in your day. My methods are by no means radical or restrictive and I also know the therapeutic worth of cake and chocolate.
