Our Oxford franchisee launched his new business in June and has been devastated by Dor-2-Dor Oxford, who were paid over £700 and failed to deliver 10,000 leaflets to potential customers in Oxford, leaving him with barely any clients over the busy Summer holiday months.
They agreed to deliver the flyers by 15 June 2022 - 30 June at the latest. Unfortunately, once payment had been made, they went very quiet
We had to chase constantly for progress throughout June - they lied to us, saying that the delivery was underway. On 1st July, Dor-2-Dor confirmed by email that all 10,000 flyers had been distributed.
It was only after we started asking questions after not having received one enquiry that on 11 July 2022, Dor-2-Dor subsequently admitted that 7,000 of the leaflets had not been delivered and were still sitting in their depot. We have yet to see verifiable proof that even 3,000 flyers were delivered.
As a fledgeling business, it’s been an incredibly stressful time for our franchisee, as he had just launched his business, having been made redundant from his previous job. As explained to Dor-2-Dor, it was very important that the flyers go out as agreed in June to capture the Summer market.
As a result of Dor-2-Door's dishonesty, our franchisee completely missed the summer holiday market as it was too late to send out flyers in July when the schools broke up, and families would have already made plans.
We are sure this is not the first time that Dor-2-Dor Oxford has tried to scam others - it was only after we took a very firm stance that they admitted they had been dishonest and refunded the payment made to them.
I hope by telling our story will save another small business from using this company and wasting their valuable time and money.

Hi, I was looking for some extra money as I had lost a paper round, it was Covid related & the round has not been put back into service where I live. I happened on Dor-2-Dor whilst scouring the internet & got in touch. Within a week I was delivering leaflets for them & their clients in areas that suited both our needs. I only wanted part time on my spare days & it has worked out fine. I find it easy to work for them as you can email or ring if you have an issue or need information. Payment for work done & records are good & it is self employed. Some weeks you may not be needed, but that's time to get on with some homework that you need to catch up on. The leaflets are very good quality & I would recommend this service to those who wish to get noticed. I have already covered many miles delivering thousands of leaflets & many people have been interested in one or another. I hope that through Dor-2-Dor, that I bring a solution to a problem that people may have & a way to resolve it easily. Slave labour.
Mind you this is not unique to this company but almost all leaflet distribution companies ( i have worked for several and done my research on what the others pay).
They classify us workers as 'self employed' so they can avoid paying us a legal hourly minimum wage, holiday pay, sick pay etc.
Then pay us wages for every 1000 houses and often it amounts to less than the legal minimum wage.
They then play further games with us to reduce our wages even further (not transferring the correct amount when paying, reducing the number of houses on our maps to shave off even more money from us etc).
Luckily i know there is a God and he will deal with all these greedy slave driving employers very soon.
(Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the LORD Almighty- James 5:4)
The only positive is the exercise and fresh air.
Update to Jeffs reply:
The vast majority of distributors i have come across (and spoken to), are migrants from so called '3rd world countries', who are worked extremely hard, for peanuts.
I would expect positive reviews from the clients, as they dont get the short end of the stick.
As for the 'positive' reviews, from so called 'distributors', i would not be surprised if many of them are management, their family and friends.

Being a post person with Dor 2 Dor is an ideal retirement job if you need something to fill your days, need a little exercise, but don't need the money. It gives me a reason to set the alarm and get up in the morning. Delivering 500 - 1000 leaflets per week pays gross roughly between £150 - £200 per month and gives me either one very full day's work, or two / three etc. much shorter and much easier day's work. It's as flexible as you want as each week's work is a separate contract on a self employed basis, so you have complete control and say over working hours / holidays etc. and you can decide how much or little work you take on each week. I wouldn't do this job if you're desperate for money, but you do get paid very fairly for the work you do. Well pleased me! More...
