Gavin is a Direct access Immigration Barrister/Lawyer who provides immigration advice and representation at every level of the Tribunal and Court system. He was called to the Bar in 2015 and has made it his goal to ensure that all who need first-rate representation and advice are able to obtain it.
Unlike many other practitioners, Gavin represents migrants and the Home Office so brings a unique understanding of litigation strategy and the Home Office's approach to decision making.
Gavin practices from Chambers at the English Bar and often presents immigration law updates for solicitors and law firms around the country. He also has extensive experience of representing the Home Office in appeals at the First-tier Tribunal and now employs his knowledge to assist appellants and applicants with their complex immigration problems which require his unique insight.
Until fairly recently, it was necessary to use a solicitor as it was not possible to approach a barrister directly. However, after the law changed, it is now possible for members of the public, like you, to approach barristers directly and Gavin was one of the first specialist immigration barristers to embrace the opportunities that this has provided.
To this end, Gavin became qualified to take instructions directly from the public along with solicitors with whom he has and does work closely at every stage in a case from providing advice in conferences to appearing in the Court of Appeal. He is also licensed to litigate and this means he can much of what a solicitor can do, often at a fraction of the price and with the benefit of direct contact and involvement.
Gavin is directly supported by a clerking team who are on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week, something which marks him out as unique in the field of direct access immigration law barristers. Appointments are available on weekends for urgent matters.
Finally, Gavin has a proven record of success and achieves good results for his clients who often approach him after their previous solicitor or legal representative has jeopardised their case with poor prior representation.
Please note: due to the exceptional service I consistently aim to achieve I do not offer Legal Aid for any matters. However, I do assist with 'fee waiver' requests from the Home Office and with challenges to 'no recourse to public funds' on grants of leave to remain.
Excellent service still liaising with them
Good informative advise will use them again
Great service. Gavin was able to win our appeal at Taylor House and get us costs. I can't thank him enough.
