What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Getting to know the person/people a little before taking a photograph always helps me with ideas on a shoot which is more tailored and true to the personality and live of the client.
Also being relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. This can be quite difficult for those who are not regulars in front of a camera, I believe it is the photographer's job to ensure people are relaxed enough to allow their personality to shine through. This is my super power which sets me apart from other photographers, my portrait shoots are always fun and relaxed.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the intended end use for your images, for example, will they likely be used in a magazine or newspaper, website and/or social media?
For personal portraits, I will want to know more about the person, as this can help in deciding on locations and backgrounds and props to use, advice on what to wear, etc.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people, without a doubt it's always fun to meet new people, but also the look on people's faces when they see the portraits I take for them.
