Del Mar Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

We went on Friday 8th October for Mother in Laws birthday. And as on our previous visits we cannot fault the service and the food. I can highly recommend the Chicken Del Mar, its amazing. As always the food was incredible and tasty. This is by far our favourite restaurant and we always make a beeline for here. The waitress was both pleasant and courteous. amazing food, we booked a table last minute but were welcomed with no issues. the food was just lovely. I'm surprised by some of the negativity as we didn't see anything that warrants so don't let it put you off. go and make your own mind up 😃

We turned up on time and was given a table outside without warning so my girlfriend wasn’t dressed appropriately! And when we kindly asked for a table inside we was spoken to rudely as if we had just asked for a free meal, following this we then asked to order food with our drinks. We was told we had to wait for someone different to take our food order which after 30 minutes no one had done 😡 I then asked for the bill of two drinks and that’s when the women abruptly decided she wanted to ask us which we declined, this followed rude looks and being spoken to like we was rude for not wanting their poor food service, please avoid this place and don’t ruin your holiday 😀 More...

As always the food is fantastic, we have been coming for years, the service is always great, the food is authentic hot and tasty. We return every year to Perranporth and visit twice during our 7 day stay - the food is nothing short of amazing! Ignore the bad reviews and respect the staff and the situation they have been under over the last 18 months. All local businesses deserve support at this time. Highly recommend this place and will continue to to everyone I know who holidays here. We have always been treated like family and this is not a biased review it’s an honest one. Went last night booked a table for family of five asked for an outside table told might not get one. Turned up on time and were ignored for a good fifteen minutes. Waiters just walking past. Finally got acknowledged and given a choice of two tables outside. Given menus and asked what drinks, not decided so waiter went away and came back minutes later. Came with drinks and took food order starters and main meals. Drinks were flat gin and lemonade no taste. Two starters brought out, daughter and myself ate and waiter came and asked what starters were missing. Other starters arrived then my main meal just as I had finished my starter (only just I still had food in my mouth) Then all main meals turned up even though three starters had only just arrived. Food was ok! Drinks shocking Awful customer service Rude waiters one of which did not speak but just removed items from table One table had a family of four who wanted an indoor table, they waiters an hour only for their indoor table to be offered to someone else. The father also had his tea snatched from him for sone reason. There was a family of three males behind us who spent the whole time swearing loudly- not acceptable but waiters said nothing! One waiter running around like a headless chicken Chef leaves through the front door coughing into his hands The worst restaurant service I have ever experienced When paying the £106 bill we were asked if we had a good evening. My response was No it had been the quickest meal I had ever had, the waiter didn’t seem to understand I was not impressed with the service! To anyone thinking of going for a nice family meal don’t bother going here (unless you are a party of 10 then you might get priority treatment!) More...

If you want bad service, to be made to wait over 40 minutes to even order your food and to then be told you don’t need additional salt and pepper that you have asked for your food because the chef cooks with it then this is your place to go. Went tonight to get a table we had 2 well behaved dogs and was told there was only one dog friendly table but it was taken and was asked to wait while they spoke with management. We was left stood waiting around 10 minutes to be completely ignored and the couple behind us with one dog was given a table and we were turned away. I don’t see what difference one or two well behaved dogs make. Very rude, wouldn’t even bother with a takeaway after the treatment we received. Terrible customer service. More...
